you would have to have space to try all archive formats on the files but i dont care as that would be quicker than individually selectiing each archive format and trying it.

Hi Team, PA has done a fantastic job at making PowerArchiver’s security / encryption features the best possible. However, in my eye’s there are two area’s that would be a welcomed addition. 1. Password Hint - Very Simple Please add the option for Password Hint so user’s can provide a brief reminder to their chosen password. This is common in all well established Encrpytion tools out in the market and PA in my eyes is one of them. 2. Key File - _Brings PA’s Security Up a notch! _ _This method is used in PGP, Steganos, Deslock etc. _A method in which a user can encrypt a file based on another file’s attributes so should the file change or not be found this results in the encrpted file being unable to open. PA could create a file using it’s “.Pae” format that users can select as their “unique” key file and each file is just 100kb and encrypted so avoid further modification. So for work I could have “Brakes.pae”, Home “Home1.pae” I then encrypt a file and instead of using a password i select the relivant key file or make or select any file on the spot. This would be another Great addition to PA’s security features and to ZTE Security as well.

I back this as it’s something i have asked for a few times. In my Advanced Virtual Drive post i suggested something similar to Steganos or Deslock where the user could create an active Virtual drive which could be read/written to and passworded but to also enable Archive’s to be treated as such if setup to do so. So maybe a “Mount Archive” feature for sure!

@jyvaut75: Hi, Excuse me. I have just downloded the last update 13.01.04. And I did n’t find how to have “testing the integrity of archive” by default. The option exist, but she isn’t checked by default with the help of a compression profile. So, every time I want to make a “zip” I have to not forget to check “testing the integrity of the archive”. Naturally, the testing can be made automatiquely, but only with a pbs programm. Regards, JYV yes, we understand…

Hi Guys, Very minor thing and simple to do. Can you adjust it so when user’s Right Click on PA Starter and select “About” instead of it launching a basic msgbox let it bring up the “About PowerArchiver” dialog. But replace the wording under the line beneith “all rights reserved” with the txt from the msgbox for PA Starter. That way users are used to the same format, and can access “Credits”, “FAQ”, “Register”,“Order” without having to go into PowerArchiver app. Cheers

Guys, Im going to make this an official request and as i like to think of myself as part of the team I advise this is followed. PowerArchiver now has Virtual Driver and FIPS Regulated Encryption. Lets Create PowerArchiver Virtual Safe, similar to Applications already out such as “Deslock, Steganos, WinMount, Trucrypt, BestCrypt” PowerArchiver users could then right click on any Archive and in the same way with an ISO mount it as an active Drive. Not only can users do this but they can write to those Active Archives as a drive and on closure PA updates that particular archive. Top this off with Encryption as well and users and businesses can create secure drive’s. Lets invest the time and make PA’s Virtual Driver and Encryption Engine take on the market and show them how to really do it!

Feature request a. Span and encrypt at the same time b. Set max. file size per part c. Encrypt to self extracting .exe This all in the context menu. Example: I have a folder with a number of subfolders/files. Total foldersize is 3GB In in the context menu there would be a new item let’s say: “Span and encrypt” 1. I select the folder 2. Select the span and encrypt option It would then present a pop up folder asking: 2.a)either a max. file size, (e.g. 1700mb) or 2.b) a number of parts (e.g. 3) 2.c.) password It would then have to create either a 1700mb+1300mb file (.exe) or 3 folders each 1GB. I think, currently, this all is pretty difficult to achieve in 1 go. =

Shame. I might be able to save some space (I already heavily use the sub-menu). Related question. Will you continue to support PAOP? If so, perhaps I will just go back to it.

is this ever going to come about. Its a feature that would solve most problems with people reporting problems with archive formats that pa isnt handling at the time of there problems.

@Sir: Bang!! there you go and we dont really have that. Mabe if you want to volenteer you could do some R&D for the PA Developers of all the plugins that you feel are reliable, usefull and why not to mention the source of those plugins. Maybe someone in the PA dev team could take a look and test them aswell even hand over to the alpha team for a global test then upload to their website. Im happy helping, if you have any suggestions sure… plenty of plugins available on http://www.totalcmd.net/.

Hi Guys, One feature that can be handy is the Queue tool, this enables users to tell powerarchiver to run each task one by one depending on the size. And…. Thats it. I would love to see Conexware look at archive’s in a similar way to Network Traffic when using one application bandwidth and resources arnt impacted. However, when using more than one application these two areas are impacted. So to overcome this certain Firewalls, switches and software programs use Traffic Control, bandwidth prioritization to ensure quality of service ie maximum speed and reduced system impact. So the thought crossed my mind when i had 26 Batched rar files all requiring extracting and two files requiring encrypting i tried to run 6 all at once and it slowed my system rite down almost stalling it, i enabled queue and i realized it was doing them in an order i wasnt really requiring to then use the buttons move up and down wasnt really speeding this up so i then cancelled all and selected each one based on my preference. The idea poped into my head during this time that PowerArchiver could adapt a Queue Prioritisation Process… PA Queue Prioritization - Settings, Options and GUI Enhancements Path ie any archive being processed in a certain location such as Local MyDocuments treat prioritize higher than FTP, Or NAS Drive. or have my Movies, Pictures and Music as my top paths everything else is at the bottom of the queue. File Format I may extract more rar’s in large batchs than any other format so anything that is a rar move to the top. I could add anything Encrypted or PAF format too Number of transfers per time By default to maintain the fastest possible speed it would be 1 but i can change this to 2,3 or 5 transfers per process. Priority Stamp! the ability to click a tick box during the extract or compress process that informs Queue to treat that particular process as Top priority even if it doesnt fall under Path or format settings. Show Queue Dialog Pause next to move up, move down a pause button so those files selected are stoped from the process until deselected Turbo! By selecting a file in the Queue screen and selecting turbo all other priorities, connections are paused PowerArchiver focuses its complete utter attention to that one process and on completion resumes the prior settings.
