Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
Solved Windows 11 Context menu support

In Windows 11 a new explorer context menu is introduced.
The “old” context menu may still be accessed through an additional mouse click, to reach the PowerArchiver context menu functions, but this isn’t comfortable at all.Could you add PowerArchiver items to the first level (and ideally disable the Windows native ZIP entry)

did you guys try it in PA22? there are some improvements incoming, but it is getting there.

did you see any entries there that were not from Windows themselves? Anyone else doing it?
Right now I am not finding any info on it… -
@spwolf No, there aren’t any other entries at the moment. None of my apps seems to be compatible at the moment.
Microsoft describes the changes to the context menu and that apps must support it to appear.

We are working on deeper windows 11 support for pa2022 now, so first alpha should appear in next few weeks for sure

@spwolf That sounds great. Actually, I’ve installed Windows 11 only for testing at the moment. I’m looking forward to test the new version.
-
@bigmike as usual, few steps forward, few steps back. But overall I like it because it is a change.
-
@spwolf When applications are compatible with the new menu, it’ll probably improve the context menu a lot. I’m also looking forward to it, as mine is pretty cluttered.

my comment was more about complete Windows 11… Shell extensions will become as cluttered as before once all apps support new ones :)

@spwolf excellent news - and the sooner the better :-) Just moved one of my (main) machines (which has loads of software on it) to Windows 11 and after a few minor tweaks for e.g. additional security on networked printers, all working great. Looking forward to this supporting the new Explorer menu!

@theandymac support is in! Limited in nature but works just fine. Preview version will be out fairly soon.

PA22 RC is rocking Win11 and working great! No issues so far. The context menu addition is a huge improvement and much faster now than clicking “show more options”. Excellent work!

great to hear… we will add a bit more to it as well, there are many limitations in new Win11 system but we will try to extend it as much as possible.
