Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
PowerArchiver - Widget (Gadget)

Hi All,
With all the tools PowerArchiver now have implemented and are still developing relating to Backup, FTP, Virtual Drivers, Burning, Riping etc etc
It would be great something on the lines of a Windows Gadget. Much like Roxio have done but obviosly with ConeXware’s team it will be better looking and customisable.
I think it would be great to have a ConeXware Logo or a PA Zip icon on the desktop that when a user puts a CD or DVD in the computer PA’s gadget drops a list of options available.
Or when draging a folder onto the widget it pops up with methods.
Something that when a user clicks on a file the widget could estimate how much it could compress that folder or file before doing it.
I’m sure others could think of some smarter more dynamic ideas that this gadget could do, but i must admit i have started to use gadgets allot more now more vendors are devlelping them.

Haven’t you mentioned this wish in the past Richard? (can’t be bothered to search) :D
Think you did and a few of us could see no reason for it. -

Think you did and a few of us could see no reason for it.Yes, i think i did. but it was long before Toolbox, FTP and Virtual Driver. i think.
The thought had aways been in my mind, and even when some said it wasnt really a priority and i can see that as such being a developer myself some “nice to have’s” arnt always at the top of the list.
But, we are moving forward with ConeXware, its allot more than an archive tool despite it roots it is becoming more than just something that compresses and decompresses archive formats.
And this is why i raise this wish once agian, a widget is a nice to have but something that once setup shouldnt cause the team too much bother for the future as the overal mechanics of such wont change ie the source code to Open FTP, or Create Virtual Drive when an ISO has been draged onto it wont change.
For this reason, once the widget has been developed it to most part can be left for months if not a year without being improved on.
and i am sure if the widget was created, with PAF, Backup, FTP, Virtual driver, Archive features, Encrypt, Wipe Archiver etc etc etc etc users would start to use it and find it a handy gadget to have sat on his/her desktop.

Nope! not this user anyway. I hate anything like that on my desktop, I find them pointless clutter personally.
No objection to it being available as a separate download for those that want it I suppose. But a waste of development time in my opinion.

I can understand it’s not for everyone. However, i was similar didnt really use or like widgets as i like a clean desktop and put all my shortcuts onto Start Menu.
Any techy person know that desktop icons actually take up system resource and slow down startup time so its always best to keep a clean tidy desktop.
However, one thing that is changing is the use of Widgets, Gadgets and they will soon turn into what we all know “Apps” which is the way Microsoft, google, apple are all moving forward with.
Windows 8 has a App screen, enabling uses to run programs within an instant. These are just evolved from the gadgets screen than run the main program.
I use very few gadgets, the ones i use are ones i find usefull for day to day use. PowerArchiver is a program i use at work and home very often. Having a decent gadget would help me.
However, am i saying this is a drop everything now project? no, it is a wish that i think would in time be used as time moves on, and its not often i request things that dont work. :) because like you i use what i use and like it that way, then i think like a developer “how could this be better, save me time, money and resource” that in the real world is my job, to evaluate a business functions, software and user base and suggest, develop methods to speed things up, make life easier.
And the roll out could be like you said seperate from the main application. It could be available to download via Patchbeam just like the the rest of the additional features so that wouldnt be an issue.
As you know not every request, wish or complaint falls in line with everyone, but over time many of those users become used to those changes and soon cant imagine doing the job the longer more complicated way.
But i can say for certain as time moves on our main competitor will develop a gadget, just like many other main vendors ie Nero, Roxio who have backup, Virtual drivers tools. And like business if you dont keep up with the little things that saves users time and are fancy regardless if your app is the best of them all it will struggle to stand out.

I know and it looks terrible.
If I’m ever forced to buy a PC with Windows 8 that would be the first thing to go. :D@Sir:

Nero & Roxio are two programs that have become bloated with useless junk over the years, not really good examples. ;)
