another idea stemming from this would be to have pa own version of rar protection on all marchives it can create if you wnat it to. something like par format would be an idea simple easy to impliment and well worth it.

Gets my vote. The ability to do that with audio CD’s would be great too then I wouldn’t need to have another burning utility wasting space on my HD.

i asked for this before and know its a program thing not a plugin thing. I would like to beable to display the version number of the plugin i have in powerarchiver. If you take a program like irfanview, that uses plugins it can do this feature so why cant powerarchiver.

I would like to be beable to have a feature that allows the archive to be locked i.e non changable but you can still extract files from the archive. Would it be possible to say force a zip not to be changable but allow people to use its contence Or digitally sign an archive to prove its from the correct source

@Sir: I suppose if a competitor has this as a feature then it would only be so wise to implement it. :) And to me it sounds a good idea to have as i ofton download Torrent files that have split Rar files and I give up when PA tells me its broken! because I can’t be bothered to install yet ANOTHER application to do one thing that PA doesnt. Yes this is a very good idea!

@alextorex: using special minimize button just for the sake of having option to minimize to tray seems overkill to me. The window without standard minimize icon seems weird. Please use a a standard window with normal minimize and you can add a check box for minimize to tray. Also add in options default setting for the check-box. +1

Same here I also use HJSplit very often and it would be great if some like HJSplit was added to PowerArchiver so I can then uninstall HJSplit :)

Up front: I usually donot work with PA in ‘Explorer-mode’, I normally use the context menu-items because I think they are faster. PA’s Explorer opens up another Explorer requiring me to select (source/destination) files, folders… First: Set view to: View -> Display style -> Explorer with Folders. Scenario: 1. ZIP: In the right window panel select one or more files, click on ADD + OK - done! (by default, the zip is nicely placed in the same folder) 2. Encrypt: In the right window panel select a file, click on Encrypt … A new explorer window is opened… I have to browse to the folder and select the file. Let’s assume it is a file in some sub\sub\sub\sub-folder. When browsing you need to remember that folder… Suggestion: same as 1 3. SFX: same suggestion as with Encrypt 4. Folders: In the left window panel: select a Folder. Add/Encrypt/SFX the entire folder By default the foldername (same as “ADD” to zip) By default in the folder where the subfolder is located. –

Its out little baby!! Spending months caring and developing it till one day it Pops out and brings joy to the world… Then it gets older and starts to be uncompatible so you uninstall and upgrade to something newer. :D

Having .sit installed in power archiver is a great thing but if there are still issues about the license, I wish that it is possible in the near future.

Hi! When using the modern ribbon interface, it’s not possible to change the skin according to spwolf in this thread. Now I really like the ribbon interface, but that also mean that I can only choose between 3 color schemes in the program (blue, silver and black). I would like to have the possibility to choose from a palette of colors to create my own color scheme in PA when using the ribbon interface. I have attached 3 screen shots from another program that uses the ribbon interface and where I also have this possibility. The screen shots is just so you get an idea of what functionality I’m looking for. Since this is only eye candy and you have probably other features that have higher priority, this is considered low priority from my side, but maybe in some future version of PA you could add support for this. I’ve tried out unrar-free and it doesn’t work for all the RAR archives I’m dealing with. Several other free programs also failed, but the shareware program succeeded (except it didn’t get Chinese filenames correct). I know it’s a long shot but it would be really nice to have PACL for Linux, especially if it can properly extract Chinese filenames within any RAR archive.
