Just tried this (with 7z format): I get file sizes reported by Windows Explorer as 1.90 GB (2,048,000,000 bytes) This is correct - 2000000 x 1kB = 2000000 x 1024 Bytes.

Thanks. I think that addresses the issue. As long as the development team know what the issue is and what is causeing it. It is up to them if/when they fix it. (or complaining to Delphi.) This points the problem out with several other utilities too. Don’t forget about the ISO image decompressing ignores filenames with foreign charaters without any messages. Ray

@guido: Not in PF (x64) PF(x86) you mean :D I did notice that 2006 had installed in there previously. Ive sorted it anyway; Uninstall Delete Folder Reboot Install Shell extentions are there now. If you need any testers with x64 platform, I do use a few OSs including longhorn, x86 win and x64 win so I am willing, have the time to do testing, and testing software is my career. ;) Thanks, Milo

@spwolf: it is assuming that you want to edit the skin (ie open it). In which case I would say ‘No’ to the install prompt.

@rgiagnacovo: Is there any configuration I can change to force the creation of the archive on H:\ regardless of where the original file exists? A registry change, perhaps?? I don’t think it is possible to force the target drive/folder for compression. @rgiagnacovo: Alternatively, is there a way I can only give users the Compress to Zip + Options selection on the right-click context menu, and not have “Compress to abcd.zip” so they have to enter the options menu? Again, I don’t think so, apparently PA will only display “Compress with options” if at least one format is also activated. Of course, if you disable the Shell Extensions completely then everyone has to use PA’s dialogue where these options would be available for setting/changing. But that is not a good solution. However, there is “extra information” available regarding “registry settings for deploying PA” from premium support, see http://www.powerarchiver.com/support/

I can not find a link anywhere in the Forums for an Admin so I am posting this here: A few users have reported that they are not able to vote in a poll I created in this http://www.powerarchiver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1247 thread.

@spwolf: profile options do not (or should not) influence default settings. OK, but if I change to use the “new” profile - this does not stay active for next use, so I have to select it every time. @spwolf: However, if you have changed it previously, it will stay on previously used setting? Yes, if I change the settings (leaving the default profile active) - this does stay active for next use. So, I guess that is workable ;) Just felt wrong to change the default profile settings instead of using a created profile as the active one - maybe that should be in wishlist.
