For x86 tablets, next PA will be more touch optimized… we can really do nice things there, even gestures. But for Universal app, there has to be much less functionality and we have to build up everything from scratch, so it makes little sense right now since PA will always be much better choice for everything Windows except for Windows Mobile (RT).

I recently noticed that PowerArchiver’s Extraction dialog is seriously lacking alot of WinRAR abilities including “Set Time” (Set modification time, Set creation time, Set last access time)

@Socrates: I would love to have a running virtual record of files sent via AC. DropBox and Google Drive can be mapped onto a computer. Any way of mapping AC folders to our computers? That Socrates is actually a very good request the New attachment Cloud service is very close to that of Dropbox, Google Drive and so on etc. Having the ability to access it via My Computer could be a nice feature.

You might want to check and see why the installation package might have reinserted the previous email. Thanks, though, for rechecking for me. I thought I had the right codes (and I did). But was nice to have it confirmed.

I am not at all opposed to Sir Richard’s entire list. I have a more limited request for toolbox: You now have it so that PA wipes temp files when the user opens, changes, and resaves a file from withing an encrypted archive. May I propose giving users an option to also wipe files whenever they add a file to an encrypted archive?

Cant wait, there are so many new features available but you have to search for them or launch a separate application. So some users are not always aware of them.

Hi Guys, I have asked for this a few times but we could really do with expanding on this features. I use the optimize feature all the time but it remains a pain when wanting to optimize multiple newer formats at the same time. You are forced to do one at a time. These are the additional features I would like to see; 1. Select a folder or multiple files at one time and optimize all that fall within the supported formats. 2. Optimize within Backup , scheduler 3. option to attempt to Optimize before Compression , FTP, Cloud etc. 4. if possible may optimize settings, if you can actually select things like compress internal images , delete images over certain sizes, optimize SQL would be default. This feature is something WinZip, RAR, 7zip etc do not have and is very usefull yet untouched or improved on. Please consider expanding on this it would be another that makes PA remain better than the rest.

Hi Guys, Something that occurs all the time within the office environment and at home with Compressing files, I typically like to use particular format’s and settings depending on the file Format. Then it dawned on me ‘Why cant Power Archiver enable Format Profiles’ So how would this work? Example I have a Excel spread sheet within .xlsx format to get the best possible compression I use the ‘Optimize Office Document’ then 7zip Ultimate settings. However, for the old formats I use Zip at standard settings. I also have predefined formats based on user types and clients. So for some customers I use Zip or RAR only as they don’t support newer compression formats nor are allowed to install freeware programs such as 7zip so are limited to windows zip folders. Why rar? well some firms have database’s that can read and export rars. yet for other clients 7zip, zipx for pretty much everything. Cab and Rar for Movie’s or Software etc. Power Archiver could have a settings page where the user types the format’s and give them a name. Formats .xlsx, docx, accdb, Profile 7zip, Optimized

Modular installation Add the possibility to choose which modules to install. Just the file archiver module, or file archiver + ftp client, etc. External Tool Feature Add the possibility to customize the shell extension to launch external tools, with custom launch options. Example: [image: i4ppaw.jpg] [image: 10qhogp.jpg] Virtual Drive Add support to iso, ccd, cdi, bin/cue, ape/cue, flac/cue and nrg.

Highlight revoked certificate Notify user when using a revoked public key Or do not allow (disable) the usage of revoked public keys when encrypting files.
  • I want better performance for IO Operations

Hello, I want to have the option to customize application buffer sizes so as to optimize IO operations. Point of case: I was trying to extract a single-file, 45+GB in size, from a RAR archive. This took almost seven hours, because the PA Toolbox kept reading and writing data to HDD almost simultaneously. On computers with decent amounts of RAM (> 8GB), I would like to have the option to control the buffer sizes for compression: Input: Up to 128 MB. Output: Up to 1 GB. This way, PowerArchiver Toolbox 2015 does not read 32 KB of data, or whatever small amount it currently does, but reads my proposed 128 MB in one pass, leaves the HDD alone while it’s performing the in-memory extraction, then writes data back to the HDD. I believe this will add significant performance improvements, because of no longer having to wait for the hard drive to recover from reading/ reading in a location different than the previous one. On modern hard drives, reading or writing to consecutive blocks is very optimized. Let’s use that. And let’s also better use the amounts of RAM on modern computers. If we could also imagine a compression mechanism that uses larger-size buffers, that would be great. It will definitely help us improve on our IO usage and performance (due to not congesting IO but by coordinating I and O for smart operations). Thanks, R.

@spwolf: how about offering it as option on location dropdown? That seems pretty reasonable I think…. I agree.

When i extract an archive test.zip ____\file.txt to subfolder of C: then powerarchiver creates C:\test\file.txt This is good :) When i extract an archive with only one subfolder test.zip ____\test ________\file.txt to subfolder of C: then powerarchiver creates C:\test\test\file.txt This i dont like :( I wish the extract to subfolder would not create the first test subfolder when there is only one subfolder in the archive.

I occasionally have to send documents for federal agencies . . . in which case I assume it would be handy. But perhaps I am so rare in this regard, there is no need to make an exception. Still, there might be some common configuration feature(s) users might like to be able to turn on and off fairly easily. If so, the ability to put said options on the QAT would be helpful.

@iampedro: We can do it just you first have to open it in PA is there an option to right click on an exe/msi and say extract to or extract just like zip’s or other compress files? yes, that already exists in PA 2013… try it on PA setup - extract exe, and then MSI in it as well. If it does not auto-detect some exe’s (all MSI’s should work), then send us the link (email?) and we will add support for those SFX’s.
