One feature I would like to see: the ability to create a folder within an archive. Sometime an archive gets very large. The ability to create folders within it would make organizing the archive’s contents easier.

Hi Guys, Can you please make it possible for users to move “Compress To Formats” into the “Compress With Options Item” Thus When the user right clicks they can access to the “Compress To…” Sub Menu then they can see the “Compress To Options” and their additional Compress To formats. It would also be a fantastic ability for users to create their own Sub Menus within “PowerArchiver” shell extention. ie; I would love to have the ability to create a new shell under PowerArchiver for both Compression & Extraction called “Security” within that I would have Decrypt Options… Encrypt Options… Compress & Encrypt FTP Options… ie contains ssl to a secure server. These unique shell menus could be customized towards any user’s or administrators needs then saved and rolled out throughout. ie ConeXware could have “PowerArchiver 2011” -> “ConeXware Backup” -> Add to backup Script, FTP it… etc etc

Hi Guys, I would like to bring forward a request but exclusive to Toolbox Edition! An Additional Tab within the Configuration screen but Named possibly “Admin”. This would enable to owner or Administrator of the software to set the Application exactly how they require it then lock down or disable specific settings within PowerArchiver’s Config & Main Screen. An Example of some of the options this New Tab could bring would be; 1. Set & Lock Config Settings, Tab’s such as Misc, Auto Update etc 2. Password Complete Access to Configuration Screen 3. Automatic Config Source ie the ability to set a default location of an Administrators Config File so multiple Versions of PA can instantly be updated with the latest changes to their settings. Number 3 would be ideal for Office environments where by multiple users accessing powerarchiver are all forced to use the same format, options and shell menus as everyone else. Should the administrator receive an update to the application they can install it 1st on one system test it then save their approved config file and PA would then for each user update with those settings. With patchbeam this could be possible further if settings can be tweaked.

@Socrates: One other wish list option (assuming I haven’t missed this and it is already there). It appears the option rename the extension has to be chosen for all attachments – or for none. I would like to be able to choose it case by case – so if I know someone has a compression program, I can just zipx it, while if I am unsure, I can send a self-extracting file. That could fall nicely under Adaptive Type Options, something I have asked for in the past. But you have raised a very valid point so thank you.

ow just a quick request on top of the above… it would be nice to have in the Shell extensions along side that feature would be “Merge Archives…” Therefore, a user could just highlight lets say 10 Archive formats in any number of folders then on the last one then right click and Select “Merge Archives” to Zip, 7zip, rar, cab etc etc and possilbly extra shell’s such as; Merge & Encrypt Merge & é-mail Merge & FTP It! Merge & Burn

kept this separate as it could be considered a program update as well. For a new format or pa program to allow recovery of archives by using a similar system to rar recovery. what does everyone think. I would like to be able to send a person a recovery file and then the file separartely. something else to consider For security you would need to have both files present inorder to open the file what does everyone else think

@TBGBe: Coomand line version (PACL) can do all that My request/wish was of course a request for the GUI… BTW, unfortunately, command line suffers :( from the same big limitation than the GUI: “-r” works only if we use . as file selection. It is not possible to use wildcards (for instance “*.log”) and “-r” I’m currently doing all this via script and command line, but aggregate all this in PA would be nice and easier.

true but if it were intergrated it would be a lot better irfanview intergrates its command line version into its main program. So aign as you have implemented some of irfanview ldeas like program language changes via menus, i though you could do this.

I would very much like to see an option in the PBS wizard, probably on the Compression and Encryption tab, to omit empty folders during backup. This option is available via command line switch in, at least, RAR and PACL

@davidsplash: I would like a two panel window so i can look at two archives side by side which would make it easier to update and keep them in check as you say I would love this, especially when opening an archive from within another one. I do have ‘reuse windows’ UNchecked, but have never been able to get a 2nd instance to open. All I can do is Ctrl+L IIRC to go back to the parent archive. I know my ‘wish’ is not the same as yours, but I think it is close enough not to be OT ;). DrT

Could it be possible to automatically import the disc label for the multisession disc you are updating? Alot of times I forget that the disc label always default to the date and time……and the old disc label is written over.
