 I spoke too soon! Using .bh through the shell extension on version 9.20.06 now locks the file with an unknown password! Compressing through the GUI works fine–just the way it is supposed to! I was so thrilled to have blakhole back in action I responded before complete testing! Sorry!

 I am beginning to feel bad that I ever started this thread…. Honest, Spwolf, there was a new thread referring to Free Pronography posted in Tech Support at 6 a.m. CST (USA) on Thursday February 17 (yesterday). I posted ahead of it just to knock it off the main forum page until someone could remove it entirely so that newcomers to this site would not see it and wonder. I didn’t mean to cause all of this confusion. Sorry! P.S. Thanks for fixing blakhole compression in 9.20.06! Great job as usual! :D

Open this file with NOTEPAD and check if it is PAE file - it must have correct PowerArchiver PAE header, checksum and encrpytion method…

hm, nice username. As to the Linux version, under emulation, PA works fine in Linux enviroments (such as Lindows). As to the native linux version, very unlikely… It would be completly different piece of software and basically everything would require double an effort from us and we dont have anough time as it is… thanks,

To start with - welcome. Sorry, but it is not clear to me what you are asking (I now little about Linux). As a start, if you want help on using the Linux TAR comand - try here (found via google) http://www.computerhope.com/unix/utar.htm If you are asking for other help - remember this is a forum for PowerArchiver (a Windows program) :D As such, Linux help may be very limited (and slow).
