@jcarlock:
Trying to zip up a bunch of HTML files into a 7-zip file, I noticed that PowerArchiver 2009 (version 11.03.04 12/2008) changes the case on all the file names. On a Linux system, where the OS recognizes file1 as a different file from File1, this turns out as a problem. Now I’m distributing HTML files, all with like names, and I know that because I created the files on a Windows OS, I won’t run into any problems, but if someone else ever updates the files and uses names where the case of the file name ends up as a requirement, PowerArchiver, in general, may run into problems.
I’m surprised Microsoft has not already changed the OS to recognize the case of the file name and folder paths.
Also, I noted that PowerArchiver does unzip them to the proper case. It just fails to display the proper case of the file names while displaying them inside of the PowerArchiver application.
I’m not currently complaining, just passing along some information that needs to get looked at for a 100% bug-free product. Thank you for your time.
can you attach an example file please? Works fine here, it might be some option you selected in PA.
I just want to doublecheck with your example first.
thanks a lot.
