@jcarlock: Trying to zip up a bunch of HTML files into a 7-zip file, I noticed that PowerArchiver 2009 (version 11.03.04 12/2008) changes the case on all the file names. On a Linux system, where the OS recognizes file1 as a different file from File1, this turns out as a problem. Now I’m distributing HTML files, all with like names, and I know that because I created the files on a Windows OS, I won’t run into any problems, but if someone else ever updates the files and uses names where the case of the file name ends up as a requirement, PowerArchiver, in general, may run into problems. I’m surprised Microsoft has not already changed the OS to recognize the case of the file name and folder paths. Also, I noted that PowerArchiver does unzip them to the proper case. It just fails to display the proper case of the file names while displaying them inside of the PowerArchiver application. I’m not currently complaining, just passing along some information that needs to get looked at for a 100% bug-free product. Thank you for your time. can you attach an example file please? Works fine here, it might be some option you selected in PA. I just want to doublecheck with your example first. thanks a lot.

Sorry for my long absence. I was actually able to burn a disc right now, so I guess it was something else before (or maybe it’s some sort of a conflict with another app, because this time I closed anything that wasn’t PA before I started the burn. Though coming to think of it, all I had running the previous times is Outlook over a VPN connection). Thanks anyways

@jcarlock: <snip file=“readme.txt”> This disc contains a “UDF” file system and requires an operating system that supports the ISO-13346 “UDF” file system specification. </snip> PowerArchiver reads the readme.txt file but that’s the only file it reports. The DVD writer software, on the other hand, seems to see the files inside the .iso image and it writes the files to the DVD appropriately. One other DVD burner application fails though (an older version of BurnAtOnce). Is PowerArchiver supposed to read and report the contents of an ISO image file? There are different ISO formats, PA reads ISO-9660 while UDF is completly different format. Support for UDF iso format is already planned to be added in future versions.

@spwolf: we will add it to the list for the future versions… we do allow for overburning if possible, which is why it proceeds. OK. To be honest, I said PA froze at the end of DVD1, but this might also be due to a glitch I sometimes get while burning DVD. If this also happens on your side, you might want to add a way to exit more gracefully. Thanks !

since PA 2009, there is no need to get new registration codes, old ones can be used.

@kafka: I haven’t been able to find the NO PATHS option in the main PA. Are you referring to “Do Not Store Paths” (and the other two options) which are at the bottom of the window when you are creating a job? Does this mean that, while the archive doesn’t show individual folders, files will be extracted to their individual folders if Store With Full Paths is selected? depending on what kind of view is selected, you will see either folders, or folder info stored under Path column in file list inside archive. You can change view to Explorer View and it will probably work as you want it.

Say, spwolf, if you plan on releasing RC3, and make some modifications to it between now and then, could you make that release 11.50.51 or something (so I’ll know to download it again)?
