    I do not see the same behavior. Admittedly, I have the default ZIP PROFILE set to zipx. However, if I change to deflate, the ‘x’ disappears from the file name; if I change back to optimize, the file name extension returns to zipx. Perhaps, though, I am misunderstanding the problem. Or there is another setting somewhere that affects this behavior.

    It would be good if the Patchbeam application had a option to collect a debug text file detailing what went on in the background… ie like you see during FTP… making connection, logging in username , logging password, syncing , approved etc so for this attempting connection, logging in , Error leaving proxy. The autoupdater dialog is not that different from other applications Avast, norton etc have it built in and if theirs crashes it can cause the application to require a restart. However, they have autodetect features that try’s to establish a connection using its own code logic. I wrote something similar 1. Code uses the settings provided by IE Proxy settings 2. If user enters in details it uses this instead 3. if neither of the above worked it then attempts some alternatives 4. if 1,2,3 fails it prompts the user requesting advanced details. but take into consideration the auto update hasn’t really changed since it was 1st introduced and for the majority of users it works.

    it is possible that one of the alpha/beta versions of last year added saving of folder letter case… this is possible in ZIP format - you can have 10 folders with the same name for instance… it is just confusing and usually we dont do it that way.

    @spwolf: expand the window slightly and it wont overlap… it will save the size of the window. I know that’s what I ended up doing, cheers. Just don’t like the idea of seeing that window like that on every new install. When you create a backup of PowerArchiver’s config I doubt it would remember the window sizing of such dialog? Might be worth adding to the list of not already on there.

    Yes, I guess so. I have edited my post, it should read … source file… (not source folder which was in my initial post) and added 1 pw for all files. Let’s say it is a bit like when I am searching for all *.txt files in all subfolders, it will find various files in various folders. Now select the files and rightclick compress to individual, pw-protected .exe files. (I seldomly use the GUI, only use context menu, is much faster) Did not check if any other archiver/zipper can do this though. Later 1. Add examples of batch zip ======[1]=====Adding multiple files to be zipped - note new pw thing== [image: rahp.png] ======[2]=====before and after=== [image: 5n3t.png] Maybe it could be considered to add a batch zip to exe profile? (Options->Compression Profiles) and have that added to context menu? Just a suggestion … later: maybe this one should be moved to the wishlist part… :) =

    Apparent solution: the Windows filename did not match the PDF title of the file listed under properties. When I matched the two names, the PDF version WOULD upload. Now that we know the source of the problem, perhaps there is a way to fix it?

    I have now seen this happen to another program when I updated it. So you are correct - it isn’t a PowerArchiver problem.

    hello, simply click the “Encryption” dropdown menu when creating an archive and select the encryption you would like, then proceed to complete creating the archive and it will be encrypted/password protected. if you have an archive that is not encrypted/password protected, you can open it in Po werarchiver and click the Encrypt button in toolbar and you will be able to encrypt the file then.     Can we speed upload to cloud

    Not sure if this is a problem or just a request for an improved PA feature. Is there a way to speed uploads to defined clouds (e.g., Dropbox)? Uploading a file to DB via PA Cloud takes 3-4 times longer than if I drag the file to the DB folder on my computer and then let DB upload it. Is there a way to make the times more comparable?

    @ckit: Wow, if only Microsoft had you guys working for them maybe Windows 8 would have been better than the current train (metro) wreck…. well, they did come far away from 8.00. And this fall update should probably end up being called 9.0 :-). I mean I bet I downloaded at least 15 GB of of Windows updates since the first official release. Maybe more.
