Is there a command to add a comment to a zip from PACL? I have looked and cannot seem to find one. If not I guess I can just continue to use the CL of the <other>zip util I have for now. :(</other>

Hello: Looking for UNC Support - cannot find in documentation if it is supported or not… for example: exec master…xp_cmdshell ‘\testweb\APPLICATIONS\PowerArchiver\PACOMP.EXE -a \testweb\APPLICATIONS\PowerArchiver\GACDS20070807.zip "\testweb\APPLICATIONS\PowerArchiver\Agent.txt’ returns: WARNING: nothing to add… Any help would be appreciated Thanks Terry

@itnecor: Is that possible for PACL to extract those tar files excluding /home/dir1/dir2/dir3/ but maintaining the the full path structure of <tarname>folder?</tarname> If I understand correctly, the answer is NO. You can only extract with “No path” or with “Full Path” (based on the path stored in the archive). If you do not need/want the /home/dir1/dir2/dir3/ path then could you store only from (tarname) with relative paths?

@TBGBe: The recent archives shows for me. Sorry, I was wrong - it isn’t working for me either. After deleting entries from the list (selecting non-existant archives) the list is not updated with new archives. @PA_Fan: install of PA2007 latest over the RC1 version Same as me.

That message appears if you have PA 2007 (10) installed. See http://www.powerarchiver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2215 Note: nothing to do with PACL

I have to check it, but writing to floppy is supported for automatic spans, while specifying size will make it act in “local drive” mode when it expects to have all the space it needs. Originally, zip specification only included automatic spanning to floppy and custom spanning was introduced as extension for creation of volumes on hard disk. i have to double check on that tomorrow as i didnt visit this issue in a while now… thanks,

it means all formats of PACL are supported without addons (standalone)… same formats as noted on PACL page.

@davidsplash: when will pacl be a comamnd line version of the latest powerarchiver. at the moment aes is not implimented and 7zip and several other things means it is not really a true command line version of pa never, PACL is completly standalone and separate version of PowerArchiver, it really has little to do with PowerArchiver 2006 GUI. But we will add features to PACL such as 7zip, etc, in future revision, we just need to get some time from PA development to add them.

@ineloquucius: …28Gb. … If I were to use a different format, perhaps the file size is not an issue?.. I believe that all the compression formats, as currently supported by PACL, would fail with that large a data set.

    I can’t check at the moment but the $ is a command. Therefore I would expect to use the switch: c:\temp\pacomp.exe -a -P -t -$"z:\backup" “z:\backup\backupfile.zip” @“c:\temp\fileliste.txt”

@NTFS: Does this your registration system crack .exe files? Why not to use some “pacl.key” file to store registration information? it patches the file. This is done so minimum number of files is deployed. PACL is distributed in many different enviroments, so this is crucial.

@cavicster: Is it a matter of weeks, months, a year? Sorry. I do not mean to be bothersome. Thank you. p.s. just to make sure, never purchase anything until you have it working as you want.

the -o switch does not currently work and never has (at least all rev 3 versions). i have tried both - and / switchchars and both cases for the o char, but the archive date is always current. is there a workaround or can it be fixed?

To compress multiple files individually use a FOR loop in a BATCH file. See ivans tip - http://www.powerarchiver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100 Regarding PACL 3.51 I cannot help, sorry.
