    @spwolf: PA does not associate with jar for that reason (so it would not break java association)… There is the “Select All” button in Configuration > Files Formats. It was too temping, so I pressed :( Maybe just displaying a warning is enough?

    Overwrite previous file

    @sheep34579: I guessed, but it should be overwritten even with a timestamp. That or make it clear that overwriting doesn’t work with timestamping enabled. overwrite option these is only to make sure you dont want to update existing archive when they have same filename. It is not there to delete old backups. what we can do is disable the overwrite checkbox when timestamp is select, so there is no confusion.

    Thanks - we were able to reproduce the issue on 64bit Windows. While dev team looks at it, try deleting the queue you have scheduled. You can go to HKCU\Software\PowerArchiver\Queue and delete the whole Queue key. Then try again and see if everything works. There has been something specific in that Queue that made PA crash under 64bit but not 32bit.

    Apparently, the animated hourglass in the released version is missing a frame (shock, horror) and hacks exist to transfer the full animation from the released RC versions. Seriously, OT - I think I have discovered a bug where Win7 misreads NIC MAC addresses. With best wishes… DrT

    @gate1975mlm: Exactly :) I wish there was a way you could some how make it so the PowerArchiver UI starts up almost instantly and then starts the unpacking. Maybe you could do something like this for example. Have the PowerArchiver UI open right away and then on the UI have a count down like “starting in 3,2,1” I think that would look a lot nicer then the way it is now which looks like the ui is freezing. Its just an idea :) Anyway thanks for your help and info guys :) it is something that annoys me personally as well, so we are always working on improving it ;-). Just be assured that PA is actually working during that time.

    @spwolf: yeah, Ivan wanted ability to backup start menu ;-) Could you please add an option to remove it from the Start Button and All Programs menu? Please :) I just feel its not needed there!

    Yes that is right. But the lost of first installation options because the user register the software after its installation is not quite good either.

    could be xps viewer or internet explorer (which is probably how these files are opened)… we will check it out when we get some time

    @moles42: what I find amazing is that a warez site had this version posted 5 hours before I even received a ‘twitter’ notification…go figure! (and a serial was provided) :( I report the serials but they are still out there…:( send them again… interesting. We were testing it before release of course.
