@Big_Boss said in hang when using the Test function with 7z archives:
I seem to have found a bug :o
I’ve tested with several different files, and PowerArchiver always hangs indefinitely when the Test function is used with a 7zip type archive (at least files created with this version of PowerArchiver, I did not have files created with other software to test with). It just does not work, and the process needs to be manually terminated. With other types of archive like zip the Test function does work properly, the problem is only with 7z files.
Windows 8.1 64-bit, latest PowerArchiver version in x64
Thanks for the report, @Mili will write it up
They are in the midst of switching to a new AC server. I know they have had recurring hiccups with it for some time.
Some days I can access it PACloud; some days I can send files through it via ZTE. But it has been far from reliable, at least from me.
For folks like me – who use ZTE a lot, this is a notable inconvenience.
I take it you rely on it as well. I think they believe not very people use it. I hope they are mistaken.
However, I have been assured they are working diligently on it, and that the final version is just around the corner and will be worth the wait.
@James-Simms we are working on separate tool for SFX, that enables our new format and all the features associated with it (superior compression, security). It is going to take a bit more but it is being worked on. Thanks!
