I have had to reinstall PA 2016. I can now change to any of the included skins (Classic, etc.) but cannot use any of the downloaded skins (in the SKIN folder or obtained by double clicking on the download). Any ideas, please?

When I saw this I thought it was a Big Up thread to spwolf for the PA 2016 skins! :D

Your PA 2006 9.6 skin engine is too old you must download new/latest version for skinning:)

Still playing with the formats, to be honest its great but doesnt work the way i imagined it to.

For example I cant easily say all:
“xls”, “csv”, “txt” is Yellow
“Mpeg”, Jpeg" is Blue
“SAP, MDB, DDB” is red.

But again… im still playing around.

One area i am trying to change is if a file is “csv” is doesnt class it as text on my system i would prefer it as a spreadsheet colour.

I know csv’s are text formatted but as i deal with csv’s every day and associate them with spreadsheets or database’s i would like the ability to choose.

I’ve just played with the presets, nothing major.

Ow it would also be good if I could Apply a colour to Archive’s as currently it’s set as text in colour?

It might just be that i dont understand the formating and settings… :)

Im still lurking about. For a few years now, I have never gotten a single notification of a new forum post. But I check in now and then to see whats new.

Sadly I dont know of a way to combine a skin with the ribbon. Its an either or scenario. Unless… Your skin resembled the ribbon. That might be possible.

However, it would still be nice to see more colour options for the ribbon interface and the possiblity for users “PRO” Users only to have a Skin Developer Kit.

Here is a toolbar that didnt quite make it into a skin. You can save the file to your skins folder and select it from the context menu.

32x32 buttons. I didnt know what to call it, so give it a new name.

JJ’s skin and my skin are different. Thats now become obvious as all similarities between the two have been eliminated.

But most importantly, JJ and I have have an agreement and understanding where we are both satisfied and the problem resolved.

Creating nice looking toolbar images can be difficult. What I normally do is work with transparent PNG’s.

After I put together a toolbar in PNG format I save it as a BMP. Open the file back up and re-color the alpha channel white.

This method works fine unless the image (button) is a round shape. Then I convert the alpha channel pixels to grey. I use RGB values of: 128, 128, 128 and also 192, 192, 192.

I attached an zoomed example showing alpha channel converted to the grey colors I mentioned.

I figured it out. In SkinStudio goto the Classic Colors (for controls) section.

Set the “Text - Menu” color. This effects PA’s main toolbar button rollover\highlight. I ask you. Is not a weird place to change this?

hint: icons for board are great :-).

Thanks. I set it to C:\ and th time was reduced to about 5 seconds give or take. I see after playing with different startup folders that the time is affected.

I may create a root folder to store my PA scripts and use that as a startup.

I created an Office 2003 style toolbar. Attached in the zip is the bitmap file. 32x32 button size.

Unzip the bmp to your skins folder, right click the PA toolbar and select Skins>Office Toolbar

So far I’ve tested and the buttons look good on any background. Please provide feedback and let me know if there are any issues.

In 2005 one can see new skin before use it,
now neither skin nor toolbar are displayed in config window.
And next, all the time I change Skin, toolbar jumps back to Default :(
And how do I make toolbar names appear in the menu
where the Default one is?

ok, so bg changes only if XP themes are enabled (screenshot was taken on system that has it disabled). So you SHOULD get the blue bg (looks better too). It depends on the skin actually.

Why would you skin registration button? It is only there for unregistered version, to remind people to register… By skinning it, you would probably end up removing the reminder :-)

Yes it launches. But you can only use this function when you have already a .zip file and mark it!
it doesnt launches the sfx-Wizard for creating a sfx with a new archive.
