some buttons in Modern Look are too small for German translations. Can you size them dynamically, based on the length of the translation?
In some cases the image is also drawn left of the button border and the same for the text on the right:
By the way, it gets worse in touch mode.
In the translation files, there’s the variable %APPNAME% which is replaced by “PowerArchiver 2018”.
But the language texts suggest, that it should only be “PowerArchiver”. That’s not really a translation issue, since even the English text is wrong.
See the example:
There’s no “PowerArchiver 2018 9.xx”, the hint should tell me, that I need PowerArchiver 9.xx or later.
I found more occurences where “2018” doesn’t fit, mostly in hints. On some occurences (e.g. the window titles) it makes sense, but isn’t really needed.
I have found a bad typo in PA 2009 Beta 1:
Forschaufenster -> Vorschaufenster
And some word (order) suggestions:
Neu Archiv -> Neues Archiv
Öffnen Archiv -> Öffne Archiv or Archiv öffnen
Verschlüsseln Datei -> Datei verschlüsseln
Konvertieren Archiv -> Archiv konvertieren
Interface -> Oberfäche (if you translate all words into german, why not interface?)
Clear History -> Verlauf löschen
And please, clearify “Windows benutzen” -> i know, i use Windows ^^
This is a feedback thread for the Danish translation.
Please write in Danish. :)
Her kan man skrive feedback til den danske oversættelse.
Så hvis der er ord, sætninger eller andet, i mener der bør rettes i den danske oversættelse, så er i mere end velkommen til at foreslå dem i denne tråd.
Hi, i got a few PA 2015 Toolbox Licenses on hand, so i thought of giving away one of my PA 2015 Toolbox License away, to a good friend of mine, and i will not be using it anymore.;)
Could you all please can do it for us, on our behalf.:confused:
Thank you very much!:D
nobody in the office knows Spanish well enough, you need to compile issues and we will send it to our Spanish translator for fixing.
The problem is that there are lots of them.
Some parts of the help file are very well translated but others looks like machine translations or they are wrong translated.
Could you add the English help file to the international installer? When the English language is selected and you try to open the help file then an error appears. (Can not find PowerArchiver Help. Please reinstall PowerArchiver.). It would be good to have the original help file too.
In the interface there are not only translation bugs. You can see what I mean in the attached screenshots.
And please, could someone answer to my first post’s question? Thanks and Merry Christmas
The Spanish translation of the compression options is a mess.
The first compression method is “Deflación (Compatible) (.zipx)”, English translation : Deflate (Compatible) (.zipx).:confused:
“Utilizar PowerArchiver > Interfaz principal > Menús básicos > (Des)seleccionar ficheros de un archivo” and “Encontrar ficheros en un archivo” (“Using PowerArchiver > Main Interface > Basics > Selecting Files and Inverting Selection” and “Finding Files in Archive”)
““Encontrar ficheros creados o modificados” - determina la selección de ficheros, sin específicar un rango de fechas” (Its English translation would be: ““Find files created or modified” - lets you select files, without specifying a range of dates”. The original one is: “Find files created or modified” - lets you select files within specified range of dates)
Another one: ““Wavpack” – optimizado para una menor pérdida en la compresión wav. Compatible sólo con PowerArchiver 2010 y WinZip 12.” (“Wavpack” - optimized for a smaller loss in wav compression. Compatible only with PowerArchiver 2010 and WinZip 12.)
English help files

Is there anywhere on this site I can read the English help files? I am attempting to use a French version (I work in Paris). My company does not allow downloads of programs, so downloading the english version is not an option.
Any help would be appreciated.
If you have french version, you can go to Options> Languages> and change it to English… you will then get the English help file.
You can also look at English help file which is located in your installation folder.

tried that - it seems my company has installed the help files so they pop up from a separate menu item, but I should be able to move around now that I know how to change the language for the program itself.
hmmm, wonder if that works for some other programs ……
thanks so very much
