@drteeth: Okay, that seems to work. Got thrown off by the selection colour going all the way across the screen as one does not have to restrict where one clicks, usually. I agree (http://www.powerarchiver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2669). I find myself getting caught by this quite often. It sure feels like a bug to me, even if it isn’t.

Big thanks to all of our users. Many, many have upgraded to Pro version and liked its features. As promised, we are extending this special offer for next 2 weeks, it will end October 10th. Here is new thread created for that offer specifically: http://www.powerarchiver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3358 As PA 2009 is officially released, this thread will be closed. Translations are coming soon (all should come within month), and of course, this is not end of PA 2009. Those who have been with us for a long time now (10 years!!!) know that we will have at least 4-5 updates before PA 2010, a lot of them being feature updates so please continue writing on wish list and reporting bugs. We have some pretty big new features planned for next 6 months and you guys WILL LOVE THEM. Once again thanks everyone!

The shell extension bug will be fixed. I just tried extracting form main and creating empty folders worked fine for RAR files. I think extracting empty folders doesn’t work for CAB because CAB cannot save empty folders.

p.s. confusion here was that Vista and XP schedule options are different - Vista’s worked ok, while on XP it did not (should work now when you click on Edit!)

This problem has been around for a while, but, I finally remembered to report it. :p PA seems to resize its window every time it gets opened. I find this very annoying behavior. I’m using the classic theme with the slate skin, but, it seems to happen without the skin as well. I think this is something that needs to be addressed.

I’m still getting this problem on Windows 2000 SP4, with version 1100rc1. Only this time, the only way to get out of the loop is to install the downloaded version to D:\Program Files\PowerArchiver , where D: is the drive where Windows 2000 is installed. The program itself then happily installed to E: drive, as usual. Additionally the downloaded DLL was a 2004 version. There was already a 2006 version in D:\WINNT\system32, but that wasn’t seen by the installer. This is probably academic, given that Windows 2000 is getting on, even by my standards, but just so you know.

PA downloads the file to your download folder, so you can certainly transfer it where you want… thanks

@TBGBe: Hopefully, whoever did the English help will recheck/proof-read it before release (possibly other languages as well, I can’t check them) :p There are a lot of “small” mistakes - a few examples (this is not all of them). e.g. A) Using PowerArchiver Backup Please note for future references, that PowerArchiver Backup script files are saved with the “.pbs” extension. Should be “future reference” (singular) Type in a backup archive Should be “backup archive filename” please make sure you include extension of the format you wish to use Should be “include the extension corresponding to the archive format you wish to use” etc. B) Using Write Multi-Volume ZIP Tool The description regarding Mode selection is misleading - it gives the impression that the mode type can be selected which is not possible. Also, a more general description of the different modes (file size etc.) rather than referring to earlier versions of PowerArchiver which means nothing to (new) users. C) PowerArchiver Burner tools "PowerArchiver Burner is an burning tool which will allow …" Should be “PowerArchiver Burner is a burning tool which will allow …” All operations are done via traditional PowerArchiver interface, making it easy to use for our users. Again misleading, I can imagine queries such as does <traditional>refer to “Modern Interface” or “Classic Interface” ? :D D) FTP Client Window As our FTP client is fully featured tool, you will find many options there. Should be “As our FTP client is a fully featured tool, there are many configurable options.” passive transfer mode. This will help you connect to the server if you are behind firewall or router. Should be “you are behind a firewall or router.” etc.</traditional> probably wont have time for that, so anything else that you can find will be included…

@guido: On vista it is impossible to run a backup script that backups to c:\ On Vista you need permission for this. When the script runs, I get a error message. I know there’s nothing you can do about this. But maybe you could give a message during the editing of the script when I select the folder. Or maybe add some text below the textbox on the My Documents tab. I think everyone knows after 10 minutes how UAC works. If not, they should. Problem is that you might have disabled UAC and it might actually work for you even if you have Vista.
