Conversion "crawler"
-
Hi
Something I find missing from all the archivers I’ve looked at is a “crawler”, and it’s something I could really use. What I mean by this is a feature that will systematically crawl or spider through a specified folder and sub-folders and convert archives (e.g. zip) to another format (e.g. 7-zip) AND then compare the sizes of converted files and retain only the ones that are smaller.
Both at home and at work I retain repositories of files (drivers, utilities, etc.) and I need to save space by keeping these files in the smallest archives possible. To manually convert hundreds of files is very time-consuming, and new files are being added all the time - a “crawler” feature would help me.
Just a (hopeful) thought… :)

YOU CAN SELETECT IN THE CONVERT ARCHIVE SERVAL ARCHIVES AND COMPRESS THEM TO A DIFFERENT FORMAT.
THE SMALLEST ARCHIVE FORMAT TO USE DEPENDS ON WAHT YOUR ARCHIVING AND IF YOU WANT TO KEEP CHANGING THE ARCHIVE AT ALL LIKE ADD FILES TO IT OR DELETE SOME FILES. nICE IDEA BUUT PRACTICALLY VERY DIFFICULT TO DO BUT CAN BE DONE. bUT IS IT WORTH IT
