selecting default will indeed reset the skin. Since you installed it over PA2004, you have left over toolbar skins, so when you select one of them only toolbar changes. And when you have selected skin+separate toolbar skin, PA will indicate so by placing checkmarks next to BOTH of them. Only real skins installed by PA2006 are Fruit and Modern… thanks for AV, we will check it out…

@TBGBe: So BIN files do not have a “header”/“contents” index, OK, I guess that is basically what I was asking. This is a format limitation and therefore the delay is understandable and not a problem. Does the same limitation apply to IMG and NRG files or do they have a “header” like ISO? (Just to pre-empt further “bug reports”… ). This is the type of information I think should be addressed in the Help file (format/archive specific limitations). Ok. maybe. Let me check and I will get back to you. Maybe it can be done better, it seems to work nicer with smaller bin files. regards,

it is MRU list, PA does not leave these behind when you uninstall. It could be for privacy reason that you want them deleted while you still have PA installed.

Quite agree. The performance is much faster in reading archive structure. And the support of ISO and BIN file really excited me. I think PA worths more than it costs!

What address do you want details sent to ? Oh and exactly what details do you require. Maybe obvious to you but I’m having one of those days. :p Luxor Please email us directly with your registration info via support button at the top of the page . If it is the same email and you are in our system, then it could be only something blocking our email. thanks,

@DaGooN: well its like this. PA8 was good for Extracting & making .pak files… since i got PA9… it wont let me do it no more. i put in the .pak at the end of the file & then try to do it as i normaly do. & it just dont work. it just does nothing…? Any Help would be nice :D Although it should be handy to count on that feature in PA 9.x -'cause some games still use it to pack media files even though it’s an old format, you can still use ‘PAKScape’ to Extract & Make “real” .pak files. Here’s a set of links to download pages: click here I hope this helps.

Hi, okay the problem seems to be similar, though in our case we did have two files with names “Query” and “query” packed on unix. Extracting them on windows led to an error, because windows does not distinguish between upper and lower case letters. Cheers, Holger

Well mine seems too! I wanted to compress the Shared pictures shortcut in My Pictures and it archived the actual pictures inside Shared pictures and put the archive there. I would like to ask that PA archive the shortcut and place the archive in the directory where I used the context menu to create the archive.

 I am Running Windows 64, and I think the Populous would already be using it if it were available. It would certainly drive the Hardware sales department of the Computer Industry. Just my 2 bits.

@spwolf: We were never able to reproduce your exact issue, but were able to reproduce issue from above after someone gave us enough information to reproduce it. There was never problem of believing you or not, but sometimes without very detailed info we can not reporoduce the problem. In this case, issue was not the same on every computer so it was very hard to reproduce. If you check that thread, you can see that I have asked additional questions about the issue that you did not answer. In any case, after someone else reported some other issue, we got enough info to have exactly the same configuration and reproduce the issue. So, not to beat the dead horse, just wait few more days and check it out… Yeah, no worries. I’ll check it out when its available and let you guys know. PS: Speaking of memory problems, I did go in and change the dictionary size and other optios to use as much memory as possible to get the smallest file size. That might have something to do with it maybe??? Anways, can’t wait for 9.5. What else is new in it btw?

@xel: Here it is (step by step): PowerArchiver version: 9.25.02 (June, 2005) _1. I’ve selected the folder, right click on it, click on PA context menu, than selecting “Compress To ZIP + Options”. 2. My settings: Compression: ZIP, Super Fast; Action: Add (and replace) files; Include system and hidden folders: yes; Save full folder info: no; Write directly into ZIP: no (not possible); Use Deflate64 compression: yes; Make larga ZIP file: yes; Encrypt archive (.PAE): no; Create solid archive: no (not possible); Profile: ZIP default; Spanning: 100MB; Spenning mode: PkZip/PA 7.0 Compatible; ZIP encryption: Disabled. 3. When the archive is ready, no main ZIP file can be found. If I don’t use spanning, the whole archive contains CRC errors while testing._ Thats all, I hope this helps! Hi, thanks for the info. Can you select same options in main PowerArchiver window and see if it works there? I am having trouble reproducing it and trying it out in main window might give us some important info. thanks a lot…

@HandsomeGuy: Now I don’t know what to say to that. All I can say is that when I try that same operation, the problem occurs. But it does seem like there are numerous problems with the 7zip.dll file PA is using, so I’m sure I have a valid issue here. eh, there were no “numerous” problems with 3.xx 7z dll, not many people reported issues but there were for sure some memory issues that we were able to reproduce. Maybe on your computer there were more obvious than on others for whatever reason that may be. Only solution was the update to 4.xx dll which required our side of code to be completly rewritten which is why it had to wait for 9.5. So it does not matter that it works on some computers, we know it didnt work on some for sure, and it works fine in 9.5, so only few days more :-). closing the thread. thanks!
