I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
It would be nice to be able to at least extract Zstandard archives.
I prefer to use light themes, and when, for example, I have set up my main archive screen to be Classic Toolbar with Blizzard Blue, files in the archive are highlighted (no checkboxes, full row select) with white text on grey background. They are easy to see .
However, in the Add screens, the files and folders are black type upon a pale blue background, which is not so readily visible, especially when highlighting separate files in lists with Ctrl/Click for addition. It would be ideal if the backgrounds to files in these screens could be set to mimic the highlighting of those in the main archive window.
I have tried experimenting with different themes and settings for skins, toolbars and so forth, but, unless I’ve missed something, none seem to give me the effect I want.
Re: Windows 11 Context menu support
It would really make me happy if you put .BH in the Windows 11 context menu. I know it’s in the “More Options” section, but this would make it more convenient. Don’t know why the option to add it to the menu isn’t there in the first place. P-L-E-A-S-E ??? :) Thanks You!
Any chance of including this format in a future release?

Exceptional compression levels.
Thanks.
Having just ONE voice shown for "compress to ??? + options"
-
now we can only choose, by checking the little box, whether we want the “compress to ??? + options” option in the context menu…but selecting it will add as many voices as the number of compressing types we chose to have…
while I’d just like to be able to have just ONE more voice, not many!
what do you think?
thank you!

You click onto Options and Configuration… and then to the Section “Shell Extension”! “Use Extensions” must be marked–and here you can change the settings for explorer Shell Extensions…
i hope a helped… -
I think you mis-understood.
manuangi is asking for the Options to be a single choicei.e.
- Compress to fil.zip
- Compress to fil.cab
- Compress to fil.7z
- Compress with Options
Then (new) option 4 is used to access the format and the relevant options for that format.
Currently, Options adds a new menu choice for each format. -

don’t you think it would be a nice choice?
@developers: any chance to have such a feature in the future? pleeeeeeeeease! :)

Just goto to Configuration->Shell ext. and deselect the things you don’t want.

guido, you seem not to have understood what I mean…
if I check Display “Compress to ??? + Options” item then ONE voice for EVERY compression type I chose will be added.
So, as the picts in my 1st post show, if originally I had 3 voices in the menu, I’ll have 6.What I’d like is the possibility to just have 4: the 3 I originally chose plus JUST ONE MORE, something like “Compress with Options” suggested by TBGBe.
I can’t achieve that with actual PA’s option, can I…
-
You were right. I misunderstood your your question. But I think at the moment it’s not possible what you want. But I agree, I think it’s usefull…

@spwolf…any possibility to have this developed in the future? thanks!
-
many months have gone since I last posted here…but nothing has been done to solve this “sort of” bug (at least, it’s quite annoying to have a chilometric win context menu, because of all those “copmpress to XXX + options” voices)…
any possibility, for the coming versions?
-
it would be nice to have a winzip feature shell extension configure where it takes you to the option so you don’t have to load up pa all the time to get to the option when you don’t really want to.

up :)

bug eh? :-). Few more weeks….

bug eh? :-)
I know you like that word! :D ok, that’s a wish! :D
Few more weeks….
really? Thank you!!! :)

THANK YOUUUUUU! :) :)
this wish of mine has come true! :)
Now, I can see just a “Compress With Options…” voice, not those many!
Just a little thing…in PA options, one must check the “Compress to ??? + Options” to have the “Compress With Options” voice shown…I think that checkbox in “Options” should go away, and we should have one, maybe @1st place, in “Menu Items”. No?
Anyway, dev’s…thanks again! Now I like PA much more than before! :)

Try it with only one or two formats active. You’ll see why it is this way ;)
Sort of “half & half”.
