I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption

It would be nice to be able to at least extract Zstandard archives.

I prefer to use light themes, and when, for example, I have set up my main archive screen to be Classic Toolbar with Blizzard Blue, files in the archive are highlighted (no checkboxes, full row select) with white text on grey background. They are easy to see .
However, in the Add screens, the files and folders are black type upon a pale blue background, which is not so readily visible, especially when highlighting separate files in lists with Ctrl/Click for addition. It would be ideal if the backgrounds to files in these screens could be set to mimic the highlighting of those in the main archive window.
I have tried experimenting with different themes and settings for skins, toolbars and so forth, but, unless I’ve missed something, none seem to give me the effect I want.

Re: Windows 11 Context menu support
It would really make me happy if you put .BH in the Windows 11 context menu. I know it’s in the “More Options” section, but this would make it more convenient. Don’t know why the option to add it to the menu isn’t there in the first place. P-L-E-A-S-E ??? :) Thanks You!

Any chance of including this format in a future release?

Exceptional compression levels.
Thanks.

In Windows 11 a new explorer context menu is introduced.
The “old” context menu may still be accessed through an additional mouse click, to reach the PowerArchiver context menu functions, but this isn’t comfortable at all.Could you add PowerArchiver items to the first level (and ideally disable the Windows native ZIP entry)
Remember SFX Settings
-
I’m surprised there’s no way to remember the last SFX settings used. I do the same thing over and over and every time I go into the SFX creator screen I have to enter all the setup again. Since I change or add almost everything this is annoying. If I make one mistake doing this the .exe does not work properly.
If it’s felt that most people want it to come up in the default/blank mode, make it an option to remember the last setting or provide selectable configurations for this screen.
If this feature exists please point me to it.
Thanks

do you use make sfx or sfx wizard?

Thanks for replying.
I think it’s the one you call “make sfx.” It’s in the Actions menu dropdown – item Make .EXE file

i think we could set Set Default button like we have in Backup.
Additionally, what do you think about Make SFX window disappearing after it is done? I was thinking it might be better for it to stay open, in case you need another SFX to be created? It annoys me personally, so looking for another opinion…

I don’t follow that. I’ve never used Backup but it seems to send me to an explorer like window. I want the archiver to determine the Temporary directory for the various versions of Windows, I just want to be able to add a subdirectory for my extracted files. Like I say, the older version of PA did this. I’d just like that feature reinstated.

I have no opinion on that. This aspect works fine for me since I only make one SFX at at a time.

you can set temp folder like you could before, didnt you see excerpt from the help in that other thread?
as for the button, it is an special button when pressed, it saves those settings as default.

I’m sorry, this was a confused reply. I saw this email first and clicked the link in the email and answered thinking it was the other thread – the one about using %temp% as the extract folder
