When you update to the latest 7-zip.dll files 4. does that mean that 7zip selfextracting will be added.

To support creating 7-zip sfxs, we have to make 7-zip sfx stub which is not easy.

Yes, the dll can’t help to make the sfx…

But: Will you add the SFX 7z support?

David Cornish’s SFX Maker currently only supports ZIP compression, but version 2.6 (under development) will support ZIP and CAB compression. RAR and 7zip are planned, but nowhere near ready.

i thought sfx maker would no longer be development? neways, cant wait for the next version of PowerArchiver

Why not using the sfx stubs provided with the 7z dll?

I do. its just a pain having to write the script and then join the files together. I would prefer to do it inside powerarchiver than make an extra job for it. which is why i normally use cab or zip to package cause there included.

I meant this as a suggestion to the Powerarchiver people. It seems that they can’t provide us with their own sfx modules, so they should use the original 7z sfx modules.

I suggested that they use 7-zip32.dll which has a nice small sfx module in it and they could use the same file to create the 7-zips,

we dont use generic sfx modules, once we have time, we will create PA’s sfx for 7zip.

7-zip SFX should be added soon. It’s one of the most useful functions. If you go to someone else, who doesn’t have 7zip, you need to create a SFX archive

A new version of Powerarchiver and still no 7-zip Sfx support. When will it be introduced, version 10
