Assign fixed letter to VD
-
gets a thumbs up from me…:)

If nothing else, you can always change the drive letter (after you have installed a VD) using Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management.
This it will “stick” within a session, even if you dump one VD and install another.
Somethings these stick even between sessions.
Just a thought
-
there is also now an permanent mount option that will “stick” after restart.
-
Where can I find that ?
-
it should be there if you use full PAVD interface
-
I figure you mean as shown in the screenshot ?

-
Does this allow me to assign a driveletter then ? Am slightly puzzled.
-
If you are always want to keep the same VDs loaded, then you could click the box as Spywolf suggests AND set the drive letter using the Control Panel (see above).
It’s not as simple as you want. But it would work.

Sorry friends, thanks to you all for the input.
However, even though PA is really a fine product, I feel having to deviate to another product only, as far as Virtual Drive is concerned.
I donot want to go into Windows drivemgt to change letters (have done this dozen of times, having 5 external drives, and Bestcrypt containerfiles that act as drives).Right now I am using USBDLM and no matter what drive I switch on,or thumbdrive I plug in, it get’s the right driveletter. Changing driveletters in drivemgt is passed.:)
Feel bad to say, but I will us Slysoft CloneDrive for the time being and maybe one day in future PA has this ‘fixed’, or I can assign a driveletter to PA Virtual Drive like with Elby (bustype scsi, etc. see my earlier mail).
Thanks again.
