Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)

    Optimize archive on Context Menu
    W

I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.

Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption

It would be nice if Powerarchiver could open archives that have asian characters in their filename.
If I try to open such a file, Powerarchiver says that it could not open the file and that it is not a valid archiv.

But 7zip can open these files.

when I try to open rar-files, then comes the error message.
when I try to open zip-files, then he opens without error message but displays no files. In the Title bar it replaces the asian characters with “?” and in the Status bar it displays “Total 0 files, 0 kB [4.194.304 kB]”.

you have to enable support for that language in language and settings, non unicode setting… it will work only then (for filenames of archives).

            thanks,

Sorry, but can you please explain it a bit more to me?
I don’t know exactly what you mean.

Go to Control Panel> Language and Regional Settings.

Then go to Advanced tab and there you can set language for non-unicode programs…

                That will make it work.

                thank you!

Thanks. It does work now. But this only works for one language. If I have for example files with chinese characters and with korean characters I need to change the language settings everytime? I tried it now with chinese filenames and it works but files with korean characters doesn’t work. Then I need to change the language again. Isn’t there any other I can do?
Or will Powerarchiver support unicode in the future?

you can also rename the filename if possible.

We do plan to support unicode archive filenames in the future, it is just that we do not have time to implement it right now. We hope to add it in one of the updates within few months.

We gradually expanded our unicode support in past few years.

                    thanks,

Wow. This is a great advancement of Powerarchiver. I tested the new version but it seems it doesnt work 100%.
For example in the title bar are question marks instead of the asian characters.
And it seems that it doesn’t work with zip files because when I open a zip file powerarchiver displays no files but in rar files it does.

Will this be fixed in the final version?

neither of these will - caption is not possible at all until delphi comes out with unicode support. But that is just cosmetic issue - everything works.

For Zip, we need to start supporting unicode zips, which we wont for another 4-5 months now.

Most importantly, it actually works now (for rar and 7zip).
