I know this might not be possible at the moment but when you create say a rar or a zip file some encoding to the archive can inform you of the version of that compression format has been used. For example you can tell if zip 2.0 has been used or if the 4gb zip has been used. If the program can tell us which one it is for example it can help us find a program that can open it or get powerarchiver archiver to open it in future if it can not do so already. This would need the help of all archive makers though it shouldn’t be too much trouble as it would eliminate the can’t open but your product sayes it can problem. Like the iso issue with PA

@spwolf: there wont be “full native 64bit” version for quite an long time since 64bit version of Delphi wont exist for a while :-). http://www.freepascal.org/ …is a 32 and 64 bit professional Pascal compiler…The language syntax has excellent compatibility with TP 7.0 as well as with most versions of Delphi (classes, rtti, exceptions, ansistrings, widestrings, interfaces)…

Hello! I think it would be a great option to make the portable version of PowerArchiver compatible with PortableApps (i.e. adding the necessary files and folders to integrate it smoothly into their structure). I own various other commercial programmes which -when installed in portable mode- offer to make the becessary changes without needing an extra installer or the official PortableApps repos. Thanks for opinions or perhaps even a realization of this. A.Borque

I generally don’t use the advanced features, sfx, encryption, etc… All I need is an ultrafast startup, compression and decompression. Even with a 90s interface I wouldn’t mind compression and decompression is as fast as it can be in PA 2017 already, it is really well optimized. Did you check .pa format? For startup speed, lets use that other thread :-). thanks!

I would be interested in a USB version that was not U3 compatible as well. I currently use EditPadPro and RegxBuddy from JGSoft and both of those applications allow install on both U3 and non-U3 USB drives. The application settings are stored on the drive itself rather than in the registry so there is nothing to cleanup. While this option may not be as well intergated into the shell, it is more compatible with the many non-U3 USB drives that already exist. I should probably try installing PA on my USB drive just to see how it behaves when used on other computers.
