Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)

    Optimize archive on Context Menu
    W

I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.

Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption

if you have check for updates automatically, it would be nice if when you load PA it wouldn’t bring up the updates window unless there were updates. i have this turned on daily during beta cycles and weekly during normal release, and that window popping up to tell me there is no new release gets kind of old :)

i dunno – never used firefox, but yeah – if there is no update, do nothing, only alert you when there is an update.

problem is that we did this first in PA 2001, people immediatly thought PA has some kind of spyware because their firewalls showed them something was happening (even though even then message would be shown).

So, this is why you now get big box. :-).

A way around this would be to show some type of status, either in the status bar, toolbar, separate window, etc. that the program is checking for updates (this gets rid of the ‘spyware’ questions) then the window or status goes away if there is no update. If an update is present then you get a second status with the prompt. In this way the checking is done, but if there is no update there is no user interaction needed.

this is what we have done before. Only difference is that Update window went away if there was no update.

And this was the biggest problem report we got from PA users to our mailboxes in past 7 years.

                  :-).

What we might do in the future is add an option that can be turned on to make window silent, but then again, sooo mannnyyyy optiooons everywhere…
