Bug regarding to extract 7-Zip file through shell menu
-
When I choose to extract a 7-Zip file through Shelll extension “Extract here” and the original folder exists indeed, there would be a dialog asking me for the confirmation of overwriting “EVERY” existing file. It is quite annoying that if there are thousands of file that would mean I have to say Yes for thousands times. Also the dialog does not follow the look and feel of the Windows setting which looks so strange indeed.
I have attached a screenshot for your reference.
(Probably the first bug reported for Beta 4? ;))
Hi,
is the cancel process the same as if you cancelled from ongoing 7zip extraction? (does it take time?)
as to the “issue”, I guess you want an new feature “All”? We can take a look if we can implement it for 7zip.
thanks,

I can cancel ongoing 7-Zip extraction. But that time cancelling by “Cancel” button in the confirmation dialog just failed. However, I can’t reproduce it now. :(
Yes. I treat it as bug since I think PA should behave the same in handling different archive format. If “All” is implemented in ZIP profile, I think it should be also offered in 7-Zip Profile, as both are the mainstream format provided by PA.

All feature is not shown, since Delphi has problems running multi-thread DLLs and we have some limitations in using WinAPI functions - right now we cannot have ALL button.

How about the dialog interface? It seems not following the Windows look and feel. (I’m using default Luna UI in WindowsXP, at least the buttons shouldn’t be like that classic feel)

Same thing…

Yet another limitation of Delphi? That’s a pity… :(
-
There HAS to be a better way of overcoming the problem. And if not, then why use Delphi if its got such pathetic limitations?

take it easy, we will make it work, eventually…
-
I just wish it worked NOW!

Well… what you could do… If it lets you… Hold hown Ctrl or Shift whenever you click “Yes”… In windows, that automatically makes it a “Yes to All” selection…
-
Yes to All, bump.

Bam! Wish granted. Please look at PA 2009 Beta 1.
