I do have a “WHATSNEW.TXT” in the PACL directory (admittedly it says for v4.04 but still)

While debugging a PACOMP script, it would be nice if the tool provided some progress indication during the operation.

Sorry, but you posted this in PACL forum. Therefore I don’t understand what you are asking for?

@Claude: It would be interesting in a future version of PACL to have the possibility to create selfextracting archive from the command line for the most current archive type (rar, 7z, zip …) Well I think creation of sfx requires creation of the archive type, so:- 7z (maybe) rar (probably never) Not sure if “unrar licensing” allows conversion of RAR to SFX? I’m still waiting for ZIP v4.5 format/large Zip (and of course this SFX).

A small item for the wish-list: an option comparable to InfoZips’ “-j junk (don’t record) directory names” switch which neither stores path information relative nor absolute but just throws it away. Useful when compiling ZIPs for distribution with files out of different directories. Anyway, thanks for PA, keep up the good work.

Unfortunately the same obscure code as yours :D I found it on the Internet, and I don’t like it, but I don’t think we have the choice :)

@abjork: The archives tests and extracts, as far as I can see, OK with PACL. But you can not use Powerarchiver 9.x to extract an archive protected with AES containing 0 byte files. this is due to the error in PACL when encrypted file is 0 byte. It will be fixed in next PACL release… thanks,

on the main home page you state that pacl is a command line version of powerarxhiver and as pa has 7zip support naturally people think that pacl has the same support. thi should be added as soon as posible as the 7zip cammand line version is not really what people want as its not as easy or friendly as pacl and people don’t want miore than one command line version on there computer

Hello, No adding these batch-zip options at the moment. You can do all of this stuff by creating simple .BAT (batch) files. For example there are batch loops to go though all files in some directory and do “something” for each file separatelly - e.g. FOR %%X IN (%1) DO PACOMP -a %%X.ZIP %%X. NT batch files are even more complex and you can do more stuff with them.
