I am looking for a way to stop the UAC elevation prompt when running Powerarchiver. In an old post about PA 2019, someone asked this and got a response to uncheck “all users” at the prompt but I am not seeing where one can do this. It definitely seems like the way to go though as if I click on “More Details” at the prompt I see that it is trying to run “_pautil.exe /paassociate /allusers /my(long binary string)”. Can you let me know? Thanks.
PS I tried renaming _pautil.exe and this worked, but I don’t know what the consequence of doing this may be so I would like to do this properly, thanks.

Just a question is Ashampoo zip pro 4 built by Powerrachiver as it is very similar and uses the pae encryption.

There would be many of us with Intel Processors.
and they have their own optimized zlib algorithm, which can result in more efficiency if used combined with their hardware processor.
Reference:
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/white-papers/zlib-compression-whitepaper-copy.pdfCan we get the same Functionality Under Hardware Acceleration Feature?
Zlib is not the only feature that intel has included with their processor, there’s many, which if combined can result in efficient and better compression ratios.

With PowerArchiver context menu enabled, it is crashing Windows 10 File Explorer when right-clicking on the Default User junction in C:\Users. Had 2021 installed, updated to today’s 2022, still getting same crash. Must have Hidden files and folders set to Show, and Hide protected operating system files cleared in File Explorer Options|View.
Windows 10 Enterprise Version 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1708) (64-bit)
PowerArchiver 2022 Version: 21.00.15 (03/2022) 64-bit
Licensed:
PowerArchiver Toolbox Edition Personal EnglishDisabling PowerArchiver context menu using Autoruns: on the Explorer tab, uncheck PowerArchiver64 under HKLM\Software\Classes\Folders\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers and the crash does not happen.

Hello,
When clicking on the main ribbon for a new version I get a script error message.
Actual version: 21.00.15 - French version

when clciking on powerarchiver update from within powerarchiver we get a windows for the update but it nows sayes script errors. I think it could be due to windows update in windows 10 can you look into it. By pressing cancel it seems to be ok. It seems that the page being displayed as erros on it.
-
From within PA on the extract popup, buttons are hidden, I must resize the window to get access to the OK/Cancel buttons. Tried on the default notebook screen (Macbook M1 Max 14") as well as on my external monitor (4k).Screenshot_2022-05-12_10-02-10.jpg
-
Just uncompressed a RAR file that has a folder within, PA created the folder but the files inside are not being saved into folder because directory separator is a BACKSLASH (Windows style) instead of SLASH (macOS).Screenshot_2022-05-12_09-59-08.jpg

Ho già contattato il supporto con il modulo presente qui https://www.powerarchiver.com/it/contact/ da settimane ma non ho ricevuto riscontro e ora che ho aggiornato alla versione 21.00.15 ho notato che il problema persiste.

I have tried to burn a DVD with PowerArchiver 2022 Final, but it didn’t work because PA didn’t found the external DVD-Burner.
I have tried several burners from Sony, LG, Dell.
I have connected the burners with several USB-Ports but unfortunately without any success.
With other burning software, e. g. Nero, all burner worked perfect on each USB-Port.
The same problem occured with PA2018 and it was solved with an update, but I don’t remember the detailed software version.
Could you check the possibility of an bug, please?
Thank you for your support in advance! -
/
When I create a ZIP archive with another program such as Winrar, if I open the file with Winrar, the original Access and Creation dates are also displayed.
If I optimize that zipper file with the Optimize Archive function of PowerArchivier (or create a new archive) the resulting file no longer has the original Access and Creation dates.
Is there an option to preserve this data? (I haven’t found it in the program settings and I have already enabled the “save complete folder info” options in “Compression Profiles”)
SOLVED Folder navigation not working correct in archive view

Hi, I’m using the explorer view with folders in archive mode.
The problem is, that the folder navigation is only working with the first archive tab. If I open a second one, the folder pane gets blank instead of showing a new folder navigation:Version: PowerArchiver 18.00.53 x64

Hi,
my problem isn’t fixed in the new build:
- Open PowerArchiver
- In Archive view, navigate to an archive and open it
- The folder pane shows the archive folder structure
- Click on “(+)”
- The folder pane goes blank instead of showing the complete folder tree

@BigMike When you click on +, you open new empty tab. It has no archive open, so it has nothing in the folder panel? It cant show anything there if there is no archive open there?

Hi,
when I open up PowerArchiver,- no archive is open
- in the folder panel, the top element is “Desktop” and I see the standard Windows elements “My Profile, My PC, Libraries…” and can browse my computer
- when I browse to an archive and double click on it, the folder pane switsches to the archive context, the top element is “Archive name”
- I thought if I click on the “(+)” and a new empty “(No Archive)” tab opens, the folder pane will switch back to the PC context with “Desktop” as top element (as no archive is open in this tab), instead it gets empty and shows only an archive icon
By the way I just realized,
- open up PowerArchiver
- click the (+) tab, while no archive is open in the first tab
- the folder area will be empty and therefore useless regardless which tab is active
- diasabling and reenabling folder pane will restore the “PC view”, but navigation only works for the first tab, the second tab stays empty while I navigate in the folder pane.
-
Yes, I’ve known about this ever since the very beginning of 2018.
Funny thing is closing the new tab and BAM it’s the way it should be LOL

Oh, now I understand - you want to browse the disk in explorer mode in other tab.
We never meant it to be used that way, since there is Explorer mode with 2 panels and it seems to be perfect for exactly that.
But it certainly can be added to next more major release… I will write it up now.

Please make sure that those of us who never want to browse the file system (only archives) in PowerArchiver can still work the way we want. (‘Use Explorer Only Inside Archive’ switched on)

yes, this is given of course.
Whole problem here comes from our main idea that people who want explorer hdd browsing, will use explorer mode with dual panels… of course, not everyone does, so next solution will work fine for everyone :)

@BigMike @ckit we will just make it so it opens up archive in new tab and changes focus to that one… while explorer view stays in main tab. Works?
Actually, I don’t think, this is what I like to have…
My Explorer Mode has a folder pane, which is fixed to my “PC view”, I can’t browse an archive’s folder structure. My Archive Mode has a hybrid folder pane: If I open an archive, I’ll be able to browse the archive’s folders. If no archive is open, I’ll be able to browse my pc.
Depending on my tasks and the archive’s structure I’m using different modes and like them as they are now.
If, in archive view, you open up a new tab, but the folder pane stays connected to the first pane, you won’t be able to browse the archive’s folder structure anymore - as @Brian-Gregory states.
Actually, I really like the current behavior when switching from Explorer Mode to Archive Mode: I get the archive in a tab and the folder pane in Archive Mode refers to the archive. This probably won’t work if you fix the folder pane in Archive Mode to a “My PC view”?

It will work as you want, plus you will always be able to use explorer hdd view in archive mode.
Folder panel is always related to the tab you are focused on.
So in archive mode with explorer hdd browsing, you will get first tab always being explorer disk browse (if you have unchecked use only in archives) , and then all archives will open in 2,3,4th, etc tabs… and when you click on tab with archive, folder panel will show folders in archive.

This sounds really good :)
