PA 21.00.18 Action / Test behaves oddly for me on .PA files
    Brian GregoryB

PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
    Discovered:
    a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
    b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.

Convert archive is incorrect for some WinRAR 5 archives
    W

WinRAR 5 has a rather useful option in some cases, which is to be able to create an archive by replacing identical files with a reference to the first occurrence (hardlink) within the archive.
In case you choose to convert the file with PowerArchiver to another format, however, the resulting archive does not have all the files. It does not consider those that were present as hardlinks.
If you do a normal extraction of the RAR archive instead, even with PowerArchivier, all the files are extracted correctly.

The option “don’t exract pathnames” in the “extract to…” dialouge via shell doesn’t work.
When I have an archive that has stored pathnames in it and I want to extract the archive without pathnames PA still extract the archive with pathnames.

It happens with .rar and cab. files. Zip and .7zip files extract correctly.

When I extract via main PA and check the option “don’t extract pathnames” then it works for .rar and .cab files but doesn’t via shell.

I have just noticed that when I extract via main PA with this option that PA extracts the files without pathname but he creates an empty folder with the name of the folders that are in the archive.

Please try with final pre-release version:
            http://www.powerarchiver.com/test/release10/powarc1100rc5.exe

And let us know if this has been improved right away.

            thanks!

In main PA he now doesn’t create empty folders.
But via shell it’s the same problem as before. It only doesn’t work for .cab and .rar files.

Yes, I did. I also deinstalled PA and then reinstalled it.

The shell extension bug will be fixed.

I just tried extracting form main and creating empty folders worked fine for RAR files. I think extracting empty folders doesn’t work for CAB because CAB cannot save empty folders.
