For example:
Download this ZIP file: http://dslstats.me.uk/files/dslstats32W-6.5.zip
Everything in the ZIP file is in a directory “dslstats32W-6.5”.
However when I extract using right click “Extract Here” the name of the directory created is “2W-6.5” !
I am running PA 22.00.09 on Windows 11. I have seen the same happen with some other kinds of archive too.
Hello!
Is there currently no portable version of PA2023 available?
(When) do you plan to release one?
Thanks!
If I compress a folder to a .pa using right click, Compress to folder.pa and use the new Windows 11 menu then the Options, Configuration, Miscellaneous, Use normal relative path setting is always enabled.
But I like this option disabled so I have to use the old style menu in order to get PA to compress a folder in the way I wish.
Just tried using the Modern (Windows 10) Icon set and seeing a few missing icons in both PowerArchiver Burner and PowerArchiver Encryption screens . They are all there in the Minimalistik icon set and the only difference I can see is the former is blue and the latter grey. In version 22.00.9

PA 22.00.09 shows a nag screen, when I try to open some setting windows. I have already PA 2023 Toolbox and PA shows, that it’s licensed in the info dialog.

I’m looking forward to deploying PowerArchiver 2023 to my users. Can you tell us when the MSI will be available for download and distribution?
Thanks.
Hi there,
there were some security issues fixed in 7zip:
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1165/
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1164/
As it seems, that PowerArchiver and PACL use the 7zip libraries, could you please update them to the latest version?
Hi,
From where I get PAVD2023.EXE? PowerArchiver 2023 tries to open it.
But it seems, it tries to download PAVD2021.EXE.
Thanks
I noticed that the version of ZPAQ used is older than the latest released 7.15 https://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq.html also there seems to be a newer fork that adds several features https://github.com/fcorbelli/zpaqfranz
It would be useful to implement this latest version (it also maintains the same syntax and behavior as the latest official release if used the -715 flag) and add when opening a zpaq file a choice of the version of the files to show (e.g. as dummy folders represented the various versions present). Since any previous changes are stored with this format, it is possible to extract a snapshot of a certain date/version.
If I open a password-protected zipper file (created with WinRAR but I think that’s irrelevant), open it with PowerArchiver and run “Remove Encryption” on the same file, then reopen it and add a password with “Encrypt Archive,” the resulting archive will be protected with the old ZipCrypto algorithm and not AES as indicated.
(this can be verified, for example, by trying to open the archive files with Windows Explorer, which does not support the AES algorithm)
PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
Discovered:
a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.

I’ve never used it before but I’ve been unable to get it working or to even show in my outlook 2007.
what am I doing wrong guys please?just upgraded to 2009 pro but never used this plug-in before…can someone please help this silly old fart to configure correctly please.
thank you.
see below for my current outlook tabs…no sign of new tab for PA.
currently using vista home premium
PA 2009 Pro
Microsoft Office 2007 EnterpriseI did by the way make sure outlook was closed before installing plug-in.
-
decided to uninstall and forget it…
couldn’t find any help anywhere on the internet regarding this problem. -
I managed to find an older version of the plug-in…version 1.0.5.0 and it installed and showed the tab in Outlook 2007 as it’s supposed to but as you see it’s informing me I need to update.
I then tried updating with the latest outlook plug-in and it removed the PA tab from outlook.can anyone please confirm this? or let me know if there is a fix please?
-
what version of windows are you using?
thanks!
-
as i stated above…vista 32bit home premium.
sorry i didn’t state 32 bit above.
-
Where did you install PAOP? Works fine on 32bit Vista here.
thanks,
-
it defaulted to powerarchiver plugin folder…
I assumed it detected it correctly?
was I wrong in letting it install there? -

was I wrong in letting it install there?nope, just asking so we can try to reproduce.
PAOP 2.03 was not changed for PA 2009, it is same release as before…

I’ve tried clean installations of PA and the outlook plugin and several reboots but all to no avail I’m afraid…strange how the early version installed correctly.

it has nothing to do with PA specifically, but with Outlook and PAOP integration. So no need to uninstall PA.
What other Outlook plugins do you have installed?
thanks
-
the only other program i have linked with outlook is a backup program specifically designed for outlook by microsoft to backup my ‘pst’ file.
i took the liberty of removing it though on my second attempt just in case it was conflicting with the plug-in.
the older version of the plug-in installed ok though with the backup program still installed.hope that helps.
-
I’m guessing you couldn’t find any fault with the outlook plug-in then guys?
-
we didnt have time yet - it didnt install once for me until i restarted my computer because outlook.exe was left in the memory…
We will check it out more once we get to it and let you know… thanks
-
sorry spwolf…didn’t mean to sound as if I was chasing you guys…was only curious.
thank you.

thank you.
we will have more time in upcoming week, and i will let you know of course, dont worry.

p.s. 1.xx should work fine if it works…

When I had an issue with the plug-in it was Outlook disabling it.
Here is the link that helped my problem, don’t know if it will help yours.

thank you friend for trying to solve for me…
however I’d already searched the forum and found that post several days ago and my situation wasn’t the same I’m afraid to say.
I had no disabled programs/plug-ins listed in outlook…but thanks again for your response. -
Bummer, I was hoping that would help. I know how much I use the plug-in, would almost be lost without it. Sure is handy feature!
-
Thinking outside the box here, I have Outlook 2007 on all three of my computers. Two run Vista, the other XP. On both of my Vista computers I have the User Account Control turned off.
I don’t know if this could be causing an issue or not. Just grasping at straws hoping to find something that might work for you.
The other thought I have, could it be an anti-virus program not allowing the PAOP to install correctly?
You have probably already thought of all this, just trying to toss some ideas out there.
-
thanks buddy for continued help…
I have UAC turned off and I use NOD32 anti-virus which I’m unable to stop intergrating into outlook 2007 without uninstalling it first.
I am able to stop the antivirus monitoring my emails but it still remains intergrated into outlook.thanks again…hopefully the team here can find a solution over the coming weeks.

solution unistall pa and all plugins and outlook install outlook reinstall pa
-
thanks for suggestion David…sorry to say it didn’t solve my problem but instead created me with a whole new one.
finally got it sorted after an hour or so but still no outlook plug-in I’m afraid.thanks again.
-
I’ll take a stab at it here. Open Outlook. Goto the Tools menu and select Trust Center.
In the Trust Center click on Add-ins on the left side. Do you see an entry that reads ‘PAOP’ under ‘Active Application Add-ins’?
If not, then at the bottom of the windowyou’ll see ‘Manage: Com Add-ins’. Click the Go button. In the new window, click the Add button and browse to the location of ‘PAOUTLOOK.DLL’ and select it. Click Ok.
You may have to restart Outlook for the plugin to load.
-
thank you Marc for your efforts in getting the plug-in to work for me…however I’d already took to reinstalling vista onto a new hard drive and after the reinstallation of additional programs I now see that the program is now working correctly.
I realise this hasn’t given us an answer as to why it happened in the first place but I appreciate your efforts.
thanks again,
Mike.
on a side note Marc…have your days as an Opera skinner finished for good these days?..I still use on occassion your last skin for opera after we communicated over it.
-
Well it was worth a try. Maybe that info will help someone else in the future. But Im glad you got it resolved.
Opera? I havent used it for a couple years now. Every now and then I test drive it to see whats new. Drop me an email some time,
-
