Unsolved USB DVD-RW not in dropdown list
-
I have a “USB2.0” DVD-RW drive with a blank 700MB CD-R inserted.
Windows 10 sees in just fine explorer and it’s usable, and works.
However it is not showing in any dropdown in PowerArchiver. Thanks for any help…
PowerArchiver 20.10.02 (05/2021) 64-bit
Windows 10 Pro
20H2 build: 19042.1348
Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0 -
Okay well DVD+R works fine, just not CD-R with PowerArchiver Maybe it’s the disks that aren’t compatible. “Sony CD-R 700MB Supremas” Windows is able format the disk, I have tried not doing any formatting, and I have also tried formatting. Maybe I need CD+R
No big deal, the the disks are not even usable at all on another PC with SATA DVD SuperWrite Master…
So I believe it’s the disks, I have had them for at least 20 years.

Update: the drive is listed as reading and writing all types of disks.
Lite-On EBAU108 External DVD-Writer “EBAU108-11 (6)”Just wanted to add that.
So still not sure of the issue, seems I had this issue before in the past.

Update: I have tested the DVD-RW drive on 2 other computers running windows 10 20H2 & 21H1 and burning the ISO to disc using Windows built in utility (Not PA) worked fine (PA is NOT installed)
PowerArchiver is not installed on either of them. However I tested on a 4th computer Windows 10 20H2 (PA is not installed on) however I have installed PA Portable on that PC.
I had the same issue not able to burn ISO to Disc using Windows built in utility or PA Portable. So far where PowerArchiver is present I cannot burn ISO to Disc.
I was able to get my discs made though.
Still trying to figure it out.

Verified: Uninstalling PowerArchiver from the system solved the issue.
I can now burn ISO files to the DVD-RW / CD-R Disc.
