Solved Drag and Drop files to existing archive - overwrite prompt
-
Dragging and dropping files in explorer onto an existing archive file(PA not open) brings up the “Add” dialogue box showing the archive file and the files to be added.
After clicking the Finish button to complete the archiving, a dialogue box appears saying:
“Cannot create [filename]. File already exists. Update existing file?” with Yes and No buttons. Is it possible to default to adding/moving the files to the archive without this prompt? The prompt seems redundant given the “Add” dialogue can only mean one thing for the selected archive file. This is a change in behaviour from PA2016 which added or moved files without any permission being sought.

No, just installed ver 17.01.04 and the behaviour is still the same.

Ah, yes. We have removed the update/overwrite dialogue when you are drag and droping onto archive opened in main window.
But we have left it here - since many of us internally use this to overwite archive, not update.
Maybe solution in the future would be to detect hold shift for instance when drag and drop, to use it for update? Or ctrl for overwrite? Or? @Mili @Alpha-Testers

Given that there are more users than developers, perhaps the Shift+ method should be used to enable the dialogue box with the default being no overwrite query. Just my opinion. Look forward to a resolution.
