First time in 7-Zip - Optimized compression that automatically selects best method between lzma and ppmd, for up to 40% smaller archive size….
How it work? Should I on “optimized compression” in 7-zip profile?

yes, turn it on… it will be fine tuned by the end of beta period and automatic, but for now you have to manually turn it on.

It detects file and determines if it is better to use PPMd/LZMA on file by file basis, something that 7zip currently does not do. PPMD is only used for text files as thats where it is better than LZMA.

First time this has been done in any 7zip app.

p.s. anyone else likes 7zip updates? Update, Rename, Delete files from archives, filename encryption support and optimized compression?

b2 just contains outdated tooltip for this option, remained from old versions where Enable PPMD checkbox was at this place. hopefully, this tooltip will be fixed before release
