ZIP SFX: AES Problem
PA’s SFX module can’t extract AES encrypted ZIP archives…
Here is an example:
(pass: q ) - but it will not prompt for it…

Using PA 9.21 (explorer shell) I was prompted for password and extracted “kassa_plat.xls”.
Double clicking the exe file gave me a PA menu which is in a different language
Choosing last option (of the 5 buttons, maybe open with PA ??) then extract again asked for password.

I had the same experience as TBGBe
I am sorry, this is Ukrainian language…
You are right, PowerArchiver can extract it…
But this is SFX archive!!!
Try pressing the first button (Extract)
it will show the error message (“Can’t extract selected file(s)”)
instead of asking the password…

I can reproduce the problem as follows using PA 9.21 :
Using PA create a Zip file with AES 256 encryption.
Then use PA “make exe” option (I did not select the test option).
Run the resulting exe and pressing the “Extract” button gives the error message
<< The selected file(s) couldn’t get extracted >>
However, pressing “Open with PowerArchiver” works and prompts for the password.
Note: For this message a better text would be
The selected file(s) couldn’t be extracted.
You are right.
PA’s SFX module can not read AES encrypted ZIP archives yet, so it will not work properly. I am moving this to the wishlist for the future reminder.

OK, but it would be better if PA’s “Make .EXE” feature can check whether zip-archive is AES encrypted and then
abort creating an incorrect exe-file…
(this is my wish)
