PA asks for password twice
-
When a password protected archive (ZIP, RAR) is opened, PA asks for a password. If you then try to extract a file you are asked for the password a second time which is pointless.
Can you make it so PA only asks for the password once.

BTW
I also hate it to enter the password twice :(

Thanks klumy. I did search the forum, but didn’t check the Alpha forum.

How about using Password manager? You will never need to enter password but the first time, it does what you actually want and it saves it for the future use.
As explained in that alpha forum thread, each file in the archive can have different password, so by default it is not saved.
thanks,

Call me paranoid, but I don’t trust Password managers (unless it’s my brain ;) )

How does other compression programs handle this?
Do they also ask twice for the password? -

Well, thats why PA does not save it originally :-). So for maximum security, you dont want it saved anywhere, and PA does that by default…
If you didnt want it to appear for individual files, then you have to save it - either in memory (for duration of PA instance) or registry (Password Manager), and at least it is encrypted in the registry :-).
Unless your computer is insecure (but then it would be easier just to steal original data), PM is great way of working with password protected files.
