Hello everyone

I hope that despite my poor control of English, you can understand me.

When compressing a file, by default the extension is included as part of the file name. for example, if the file is name.pdf, the compressed file will be name_pdf.zip.

Is there any way for the extensions not to be included in the compressed file name? As much as I have searched I don’t see such an option.

@mario-lopez When I right click name.pdf and choose Compress to “name.zip” on the resulting menu I find it does what it says. I don’t know why you seem to be finding that something different happens.

Hi Brian, Yeah, if you uses only a file is ok.

The problem is with batch or bulk compressions. If you select several files and want to compress each one separately into its own compressed file.

The suffix is added dues to a filename issue that could occur when batch compressing files.
For example, in a scenario such as this one in below screenshot, where files may have same filenames but different formats. In the scenario below, the resulting archive for all three different files is Test.zip, while we have three different files in the tracklist that we would like to batch compress and that is where a filename conflict could occur.

Therefore, a suffix is added to make sure all the files in the Batch Tool tracklist are compressed.

@mili I understand, you play it safe. I would have preferred to have the option to choose if I wanted to add the suffix or not, but I understand that you have made this decision.
