    MSI release?
    J

I’m looking forward to deploying PowerArchiver 2023 to my users. Can you tell us when the MSI will be available for download and distribution?

    Thanks.

    Missing Icons
    LuxorL

Just tried using the Modern (Windows 10) Icon set and seeing a few missing icons in both PowerArchiver Burner and PowerArchiver Encryption screens . They are all there in the Minimalistik icon set and the only difference I can see is the former is blue and the latter grey. In version 22.00.9

    BigMikeB

    Hi there,

there were some security issues fixed in 7zip:

    https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1164/

As it seems, that PowerArchiver and PACL use the 7zip libraries, could you please update them to the latest version?

    Hi,

From where I get PAVD2023.EXE? PowerArchiver 2023 tries to open it.
But it seems, it tries to download PAVD2021.EXE.

    Thanks

    Better ZPAQ support
    W

I noticed that the version of ZPAQ used is older than the latest released 7.15 https://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq.html also there seems to be a newer fork that adds several features https://github.com/fcorbelli/zpaqfranz

It would be useful to implement this latest version (it also maintains the same syntax and behavior as the latest official release if used the -715 flag) and add when opening a zpaq file a choice of the version of the files to show (e.g. as dummy folders represented the various versions present). Since any previous changes are stored with this format, it is possible to extract a snapshot of a certain date/version.

    Bug with "Encrypt Archive" action
    W

If I open a password-protected zipper file (created with WinRAR but I think that’s irrelevant), open it with PowerArchiver and run “Remove Encryption” on the same file, then reopen it and add a password with “Encrypt Archive,” the resulting archive will be protected with the old ZipCrypto algorithm and not AES as indicated.
(this can be verified, for example, by trying to open the archive files with Windows Explorer, which does not support the AES algorithm)

PA 21.00.18 Action / Test behaves oddly for me on .PA files
    Brian GregoryB

PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
    Discovered:
    a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
    b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.

Hello, can you help me? I am experiencing a strange issue while selecting pdf files compressed into Powerarchiver file:instead of showing the preview in the right hand panel, the (one) click to select the pdf file causes Adobe Reader to open it. I’ve checked the configuration, everything seems ok, there is an item, regarding one click to open the file, but nothing changes by selecting or not selecting it. Tried various versions of Powerarchiver, same result. I removed Adobe:same issue, but the pdf file is opened by Edge :-) This issue is limite to only one of the users who log on the computer. OS Win10 rev. 2004…Thank you very much for your help.

        Hi @Vindrus
Thanks for the information. We were not able to reproduce the same issue here. When you single click a PDF inside an archive, and it opens in Adobe Reader, what does the preview window in PowerArchiver show?
If you go to Options>Set Installation Defaults, does that help?

Also, the issue appears on an account for a specific user, others users/accounts on the same machine do not have this issue?

Please let us know, we’ll do our best to help. Thanks!

Hi, thank you for your reply.

          • When Adobe opens, the PowerArchiver preview window is empty;
          • Set installation defaults: done, but same issue.;
          • yes, the problem is related to a specific user, the others who log on the pc do not have this issue (perhaps we should create a new user …

            Hey @Vindrus

Thanks for all of the information. Which version exactly are you having this issue on?
Have you tried the latest 2019 and latest 2021 version and what was the result?

Also, in case we need to look at that too, please send us the powerarchiver reg code for that account.
You can extract it from the Options>Configuration button dropdown, Save settings to file.
You can mail it to support at conexware dot com

            Thanks!

I think i’ve solved the problem. You have set up a user with limited options programs like powerarchiver need to be allowed certain options in windows same for Adobe. You might wnat to set up a new user with exactly the same options as the other users and see if that solves the issue
