PA 21.00.18 Action / Test behaves oddly for me on .PA files
    Brian GregoryB

PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
    Discovered:
    a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
    b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.

Convert archive is incorrect for some WinRAR 5 archives
    W

WinRAR 5 has a rather useful option in some cases, which is to be able to create an archive by replacing identical files with a reference to the first occurrence (hardlink) within the archive.
In case you choose to convert the file with PowerArchiver to another format, however, the resulting archive does not have all the files. It does not consider those that were present as hardlinks.
If you do a normal extraction of the RAR archive instead, even with PowerArchivier, all the files are extracted correctly.

      Hi,

I have noticed that when I load PA, even without an archi9ve, the progress bar on the lower right is half full. If an archive is loaded, the bar gets a little larger, but the green filled-in bit stays the same size.

      Cheers

        @drteeth hah :)

It is action indicator… green means PA is not busy and red means it is working :).
        Since 2001 I think.

In my defense, it had changed from round to square ;-).

        Cheers

it was new design, to match rest of the interface but also to hid a bug in status bar where sides are not transparent :)

So it is actually ok? Just making sure.

            Hi spwolf,

Here they are. It occurred to me that the green square in the lower right is some sort of colour indicator and not a progress bar.0_1523025563347_2018-04-06_15h35_40.png0_1523025576361_2018-04-06_15h36_39.png

@drteeth so when is it half full? Can we find that situation? It would mean that the image is half hidden basically, since it has only two states - green and red.

When a file is loaded, it looks to me as if the space to the right of the green indicator increases. That is all I see. Sorry for any confusion.

Cheers and have a great weekend,
