PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
Discovered:
a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.
WinRAR 5 has a rather useful option in some cases, which is to be able to create an archive by replacing identical files with a reference to the first occurrence (hardlink) within the archive.
In case you choose to convert the file with PowerArchiver to another format, however, the resulting archive does not have all the files. It does not consider those that were present as hardlinks.
If you do a normal extraction of the RAR archive instead, even with PowerArchivier, all the files are extracted correctly.
Solved How to disable explorer preview in Windows 10 'file explorer'?
-
Hi, i installed powerarchiver 2016 a few days ago then 2017 beta 34 or 43 since i installed these the preview section in windows file explorer shows huge image previews for photos, videos, text files etc. I want to disable this. I tried unchecking “enable explorer preview” in configuration-shell extension but this does not work. I tried uninstalling powerarchiver but this won’t work either, i have also tried updating to 2017 build 59. Please help!

ALT-P in explorer maybe. I don’t have Win 10 myself.

that merely removes the pane, i want the pane to go back to stock windows pane that shows detailed info about the video, image etc instead of just a large screenshot. Here is a screenshot of what i see, before i installed powerarchiver it was not like this.

@spaceship9876 Click on view, then details panel… it will show details panel instead of preview panel. Otherwise thats stock preview panel that hanldes images, PA only registers itself for archives, rest is stock. Thanks!
