Since installing PA 2017 I have parctmp.* files (0 byte) files all over my hard drive. Is their a way to correct this?

can you tell us when do they get created? It is likely during compression, what format do you use when they get created? I would think it is specific to certain format. Thank you!

in addition to spwolf’s question, does this occur in Windows Explorer or on additional explorer such as Total Commander? as we have had a similar report on Total Commander leaving such files when copying, and I am still working on reproducing it.
Thanks!

I often see these weird parctmp.* files in my temp directory (as specified in the PA configuration). Maybe melmitts707 is specifying a temp directory that no longer exists, or something like that.

The files occur when extracting files from both ZIP and RAR files while using Total Commander. They appear in the destination directory and the Windows Temp directory. I will have to check if it occurs with Windows Explorer. I do know I have been using Total Commander 9.0a and WinRAR 5.40 since they have been released and have never experienced the parctmp.* files until avter I installed PowerArchiver 2017.

that helps indeed, thanks very much for the details!
We have it logged in for fixing

Additional information. I uninstalled PowerArchiver and ran Total commander 9.0a and WinRAR 5.40 both x64 version. They ran without any problems. Their were no parctmp.* files left in any of the folders during compression or extraction of files.
