Office Security - Shell Extensions

  • Hi Guys,

    Can you add a new sub group called ‘Power Archiver Office/PDF Security’ with the options;

    1. Office Encrypt
    2. Office Decrypt
    3. Office Sign
    4. Office Verify
    5. PDF Encrypt & Sign

    Provide the ability for it to be split as you do with Backup/FTP/Burner etc.

    I am liking the ability to Encrypt office files without having to convert it into a container. However, I have to go into the PA Encryption Suite every time to do it.

    It would still be nice to have ‘Office Wipe File’ option using the wipe facility you have for old temp files.

    This sounds like a nice option, if it is not difficult to implement.

    One question (with three parts): about office and pdf encryption (since I have never really used them). Does PA use the native Office and PDF encryption? If not, what does it use? Will recipients without PA be able to access them?

    So far testing it when you use the Office Encrypt you can use the Default or 2007+ encryption.

    Users were able to open the files and enter a password without the need for Powerarchiver.

    I haven’t been using this. But it seems as if I should be. thanks for making this proposal.

    these things are not (yet) exposed for normal user, next major version, we will add it.

    We will likely add another submenu for Encryption since there are so many encryption related features now.

  • Cant wait, there are so many new features available but you have to search for them or launch a separate application. So some users are not always aware of them.
