Just tried using the Modern (Windows 10) Icon set and seeing a few missing icons in both PowerArchiver Burner and PowerArchiver Encryption screens . They are all there in the Minimalistik icon set and the only difference I can see is the former is blue and the latter grey. In version 22.00.9

Hi there,
there were some security issues fixed in 7zip:
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1165/
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1164/
As it seems, that PowerArchiver and PACL use the 7zip libraries, could you please update them to the latest version?
Hi,
From where I get PAVD2023.EXE? PowerArchiver 2023 tries to open it.
But it seems, it tries to download PAVD2021.EXE.
Thanks
I noticed that the version of ZPAQ used is older than the latest released 7.15 https://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq.html also there seems to be a newer fork that adds several features https://github.com/fcorbelli/zpaqfranz
It would be useful to implement this latest version (it also maintains the same syntax and behavior as the latest official release if used the -715 flag) and add when opening a zpaq file a choice of the version of the files to show (e.g. as dummy folders represented the various versions present). Since any previous changes are stored with this format, it is possible to extract a snapshot of a certain date/version.
If I open a password-protected zipper file (created with WinRAR but I think that’s irrelevant), open it with PowerArchiver and run “Remove Encryption” on the same file, then reopen it and add a password with “Encrypt Archive,” the resulting archive will be protected with the old ZipCrypto algorithm and not AES as indicated.
(this can be verified, for example, by trying to open the archive files with Windows Explorer, which does not support the AES algorithm)
PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
Discovered:
a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.

A few years ago I purchased PowerArchiver. I recently installed Windows 8 and just downloaded the latest copy. I tried to use my registration code and it was not accepted. Will I have to buy again to use the current version?
If the answer is yes, will older versions run on Windows 8?

You need to login to your account and check there, if you are home user, you have free update under Free Updates, just click on resend codes.
-
I did all that and when I enter the new code I get this:
-
Click on Offline tab in that window and you can enter your codes… thats Online tab right now… it is same registration window, you will see it top left.
-
That doesn’t work either. Is my “Registration Name” my email address I use to log on to the website or the name I used when I first bought the program (I’ve tried both) or what?
-
Registration Name you got in your license email, next to registration code. Both are in the email you got when you clicked on Resend Codes next to PA 2013.
-
That’s what I’m using, so I just sent an email to Support at ConeX showing them the jumbled email I got and asking what to do now.
I couldn’t post the message here because it contains my name, email address and the registration number.

Hello,
Your support ticket should have been replied. Let us know if it worked for you
Thanks -
It hasn’t arrived yet
-
I have your account email address and will contact you there directly
-
I have replied to your email. Somebody from ConeX sent me a password change message. I don’t need a new password.
-
I just got an email with this in it
Ticket ID: 33840
Subject: Re: ConeXware/PowerArchiver Account Password
Department: General
Priority: Default
Status: OpenIt also included another new password. Please stop changing my password. I didn’t need a new password and now it has been changed twice.
-
Finally. That one seems to have worked. The message itself was the same jumble as the first one but the registration code was different and I think it worked.
-
p.s. We never got the email your forwarded - i later on found it in spam box. It was garbled because of your Eudora not supporting unicode email text. It is only email client that was widely used and not supporting the unicode. I know because i used it before as well :-).
