I’m looking forward to deploying PowerArchiver 2023 to my users. Can you tell us when the MSI will be available for download and distribution?
Thanks.
Just tried using the Modern (Windows 10) Icon set and seeing a few missing icons in both PowerArchiver Burner and PowerArchiver Encryption screens . They are all there in the Minimalistik icon set and the only difference I can see is the former is blue and the latter grey. In version 22.00.9

Hi there,
there were some security issues fixed in 7zip:
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1165/
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1164/
As it seems, that PowerArchiver and PACL use the 7zip libraries, could you please update them to the latest version?
Hi,
From where I get PAVD2023.EXE? PowerArchiver 2023 tries to open it.
But it seems, it tries to download PAVD2021.EXE.
Thanks
I noticed that the version of ZPAQ used is older than the latest released 7.15 https://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq.html also there seems to be a newer fork that adds several features https://github.com/fcorbelli/zpaqfranz
It would be useful to implement this latest version (it also maintains the same syntax and behavior as the latest official release if used the -715 flag) and add when opening a zpaq file a choice of the version of the files to show (e.g. as dummy folders represented the various versions present). Since any previous changes are stored with this format, it is possible to extract a snapshot of a certain date/version.
If I open a password-protected zipper file (created with WinRAR but I think that’s irrelevant), open it with PowerArchiver and run “Remove Encryption” on the same file, then reopen it and add a password with “Encrypt Archive,” the resulting archive will be protected with the old ZipCrypto algorithm and not AES as indicated.
(this can be verified, for example, by trying to open the archive files with Windows Explorer, which does not support the AES algorithm)
PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
Discovered:
a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.

Win 8/8.1 is a dog. The HD light spends ages on when noting is happening and whatever is going on in the background slows things down. I have already had to disable the fast boot feature. You may have to choose your time when you launch PA.

8.1 works great here, and PA runs the same as on Win7… it is basically Win7 with new features (most of them good, some stupid). Robert has some different, specific problem that we will take a look at as soon as 14.01 is out :-)

Ya I don’t know why doing that on my black edition 1TB 64meg cache works fine but on my vertex 3 ocz 90gig 425 read write 125 megs it loads slow lol. That with 8.1 windows 8 pro 64 bit :) Got power saver on but turbo up to 3750mhz I think :) http://valid.canardpc.com/4604t7 this my windows 7 home 64bit version.
This my windows 8.1 full power :) http://valid.canardpc.com/bz70j7 this one on my SSD. -
Any updated with my OCZ vertext 3 90gig SSD updated :)?
-

Here it is;
http://dl.powerarchiver.com/2013/powarc1402b1.exeAny better?
-
Nope still takes 45secs to load on my SSD 90 gig vertex 3 425/125meg one.

Updated I formatted again and works great loads fast this time but I’m still having issue with cab support not working after you compress it :( I get error after you click next it said Setup is unable to initialize the installation program. The installation will quit now. on my driver set. PAX MASTER PCIe Titanium Driver Suite 2013 V1.10 Default Tweak Edition or any of my other sets :)
-
glad it works now, but the problem with cab is due to Windows version itself. It seems that Window’s cab dll is registered in the system and takes over.
We will have to investigate better if we can force usage of version of cab.dll that works.

You have extract the cab support then recompress then click next on setup then when you do you see that error on it :).
