it is not going to make any difference until next alphas :-).

probably something weird with the menu components, but we wont update them until next alpha’s because updates usually bring out some weird issues (like this one), and we dont have months now to test it against final release… so hopefully when next release/alpha is in 2-3 weeks, we will see if that changes things.

That does sound like you have some idea of what may be causing it. :)
Odd that it only seems to be affecting me though. A Vista quirk maybe?

Would you believe that with the latest update 14.02.03 this has fixed itself.
I wonder if it will be permanent or if it will revert back to how it was. Time will tell. ;)

You will see the tools all show separately in the Home tab when PA is started without an open archive.
When an archive is open, the Home tab will feature the Tools button as a dropdown, as in the screenshot in the first post.
Then, clicking the Tools tab shows all of the tools separately.

That seems to be OK?

Umm! Either I’m misunderstanding you Mili or I’m missing the obvious, but those tools have never appeared on the my Home tab if an archive isn’t open. :confused:

I kinda like having everything there in one tab, for easy access.

Huh? They are not in my home tab if an archive isn’t open as the screenshot in my previous post shows. The drop down menu only shows if an archive is open.

Right, if an archive is open, it shows in the dropdown.
If there is no archive open, Tools show on the right side, as in your screenshot.

Before the latest update I had the compact menu where I had to click on the arrows to see the full menu s in the first screenshot in original post, but now I see it fully expanded as it should be.

I notice that it now also contains “Archive comment” in that drop down menu, maybe that’s what has made it work properly again.

All that matters is I’m happy that it’s now functioning properly and I hope that it stays that way and doesn’t revert back to the compact menu as happened in previous versions after a couple of days use.
