How to unzip remote files through PA FTP
-
I can’t figure out where I can use the PowerArchiver FTP to unzip zipped files that are on the remote server.
Is there a way to do this? I assumed probably, since PA is a zip program and other ftp programs can do this. But maybe not?
Thanks!!

how should this work?
thanks.

If you have a zipped or tarred file on the remote server you could for example, right click on that file and say ‘untarr’ or ‘unzip’.
If this is not an option yet, is there a way around it, like where you give a command that would upload the zipped file and automatically unzip it once it was uploaded?
Thanks!

so basically, it would use installed tar/zip on the server, assuming some standardized locations?

WinSCP (a free ftp software) does it - but I have no idea how they do it - I don’t think there is anything it uploads to the server other than the ftp files, but I don’t really know for sure.
Description of how it works is at:

yeah, something like that… it is certainly possible to add to PA.

That would be great.
Thanks so much for such a quick response and willingness to consider feedback we provide.
