I’m looking forward to deploying PowerArchiver 2023 to my users. Can you tell us when the MSI will be available for download and distribution?
Thanks.
Just tried using the Modern (Windows 10) Icon set and seeing a few missing icons in both PowerArchiver Burner and PowerArchiver Encryption screens . They are all there in the Minimalistik icon set and the only difference I can see is the former is blue and the latter grey. In version 22.00.9

Hi there,
there were some security issues fixed in 7zip:
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1165/
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1164/
As it seems, that PowerArchiver and PACL use the 7zip libraries, could you please update them to the latest version?
Hi,
From where I get PAVD2023.EXE? PowerArchiver 2023 tries to open it.
But it seems, it tries to download PAVD2021.EXE.
Thanks
I noticed that the version of ZPAQ used is older than the latest released 7.15 https://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq.html also there seems to be a newer fork that adds several features https://github.com/fcorbelli/zpaqfranz
It would be useful to implement this latest version (it also maintains the same syntax and behavior as the latest official release if used the -715 flag) and add when opening a zpaq file a choice of the version of the files to show (e.g. as dummy folders represented the various versions present). Since any previous changes are stored with this format, it is possible to extract a snapshot of a certain date/version.
If I open a password-protected zipper file (created with WinRAR but I think that’s irrelevant), open it with PowerArchiver and run “Remove Encryption” on the same file, then reopen it and add a password with “Encrypt Archive,” the resulting archive will be protected with the old ZipCrypto algorithm and not AES as indicated.
(this can be verified, for example, by trying to open the archive files with Windows Explorer, which does not support the AES algorithm)
PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
Discovered:
a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.
PowerArchiver Encryption Suite

This is stated to be a separate application in the beta 1 email I got.
I am very interested in this. Is more info available? Like release date and pricing ;) ?
Also, I just cannot see any advantage to the select plan in spite of reading the page http://www.powerarchiver.com/powerarchiver-select-premium-support-maintainance/.
PA updates just fine now, so what advantage does this ‘new’ method give?
Thanks

When PA 2014 rolls out with new keys, you will not have to do anything but click on update, it will automatically update the keys… plus better support, etc. It is really meant for business users, which always had something similar but not clearly defined - we are only company that provides phone support in this space for instance, so now we can tell them - look, competitor provides only upgrade assurance, and here you get much more.
As for personal users, it makes life little bit easier, plus it also gives you means to support PA development. Both development and support are on-going, not one time costs of course :-). We also plan to give home users a chance to get free Select by posting on forums as well.
As to Encryption Suite… we will define it a little bit better once we are done with PA 2013. It needs more features then right now, we will see.

Hi,
I have d/l the beta and will install it once my current backup run has finished. The reason why I asked about the Encryption Suite is that the paragraph describing it does not make it clear whether it is a separate app or included in PA - it can read both ways. I have been looking for a good PGP alternative for AGES and am looking forward to this development.
I assume that it is okay to install over the top of PA 2012?
Thanks

it is included in PA, so nothing extra to install.
It is an separate application but it works fluidly within PowerArchiver.keep in mind we just started with PGP :-). Any suggestions would be awesome.

I installed over the top and the install program deletes the older version.
Still having problems with the driver letter being assigned to a virtual drive when an image is mounted. It looks like the driver for virtual drive fails. Please see screenshots. The installing driver window was present for well over a minute.
I manually installed the Starport drivers and updated them to the latest version. They appear to be installed okay but there is no virtual DVD-ROM showing as a result (further screenshot added).
I can work around this issue (I have Virtual CloneDrive installed and working) but do not like to let computers win ;).
