Compression profiles
-
you are D&Ding into a zipx archive?
-
I ask as the D&D dialog is what is in the screenshot and the compression profiles option is different than what is shown in your screenshot.
That is why i asked for a larger/more detailed screenshot.

-
I don’t have ZipStore as an option no matter what. And I have ZIPX only because I added it.
I cannot think of anything else to send you other than what I have sent.
If you all are just not sure, there’s no reason to ask any more. I will just plan on taking the extra steps everytime I d&d.
Sorry I cannot be of more help.

The options in the dropdown shown in my screenshot are profiles i created as well.
I posted the screenshot to show what the D&D dialog looks like, differing from what I can comprehend in the screenshot you sent.I guess I’ll try to decipher your screenshots and try to reproduce the issue. Thanks!
-
maybe check with professors pa registry and see if you can reproduce it like that. it might be due to the specific profile.
-
All you need look at for sure is Profile 1 image I sent 2-3 days ago. When I first try to d&d the profile drop down window is greyed out – and so the other features are wrong.
Only after I change to another format (say, 7z) and then back to zip does the profile drop down window become active (is no longer greyed out).
The very first image identifies the problem (by my lights). the other two only show what I must do to get the profile drop down window to work.

I was finally able to figure it out.
It happens when dragging a file onto a Zipx archive, in windows explorer for example. (file not open in main PA)Logging it in.
-
Thanks.
Sorry it took me so long to explain it clearly. My bad. That is almost always the way I add files to an archive, so I erroneously assumed most other people did the same. Duh. I am slow.
-
I didn’t try ALL D&D options myself so my fault as well :)
Thanks for bringing it up, glad we got it!
logged in :) -
Goodness. No need to apologize. It is my job to explain the problem clearly. You all have a difficult enough job as it is.
I am just glad I was finally able to explain it clearly enough.
Thanks for a great product.

ah, dragging into the icon? :-).
you see how many different scenarios there are!
-
Many ways of doing it. But D&D onto the icon always seemed the easiest.
Which is why I would also like to be able to move or copy depending on which keys I hold down while D&D (which key combinations matters now) — just as move seems the default in Win 7, but holding down the CTRL key while doing it copies the file.
