FTP - works differently, depending
-
thanks… i have setup ftp ssl server now for the dev team to test against, so we should have another build hopefully soon.
-
Thanks.
BTW, With FileZilla going to the same folder at the same site, I use “Explicit FTP over TLS.”
-
do you know what ftp server is being used? If we can get access, it would be helpful, since on our ftp/ssl it works fine. But there are many different server softwares for ftp.
if it is confidential you can email the info… if it is impossible, then let us know the name of the server.
thanks.

I can use plain FTP without a problem. Just none of the encrytion options.
And I have no problem using FileZilla to that site.
I guess I will just have to use FZ for the last step of my transfer.
Or send it unencrypted.
Shame.
-
but do you know which ftp server is being used? it should say so when you login in ftp client, it would be one of the first strings…
-
But I don’ see that is going to help. But try.
Never had problem logging onto ANY FTP server with FZ.
But if that will help, give it a whirl. However, I expect I will just need to plan on using the two step process.
Actually, I cannot even do it from the PA window any more. Maybe installing the rc1 changed a setting somewhere else.
Silly me. I should have stuck with what I had.
-
i mean the actual ftp server software… like filezilla server or what exactly?
-
i got it from the server, it is Pure-FTPd… will let you know more.
-
Glad you figured out. I wasn’t sure what you were asking.
The server type (using FZ) is set to autodetect.
-
ok, repeated here since this is real thread:
–------
This is new version PA 2012 RC1 13.00.24:
http://dl.powerarchiver.com/2012/powarc1300rc1.exeNow explicit SSL works on Our server (which is different server software), so please check with yours!
-
SSL works. Cannot use TLS, but this is great.
Thanks.
-
it is the same, we just call it differently - what is explicit SSL we call ftp+ssl and what is implicit SSL in filezilla, we call ftp + ssl/tls… but otherwise it is same encryption used.
