Hi,

I notice there are 2 temporary folders used by PA, the one in C:\Program Files\PowerArchiver\TEMP and the one in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp

How can I move the temp folder that reside in Program Files to somewhere else?

Hi,

From what i can tell you can only change the Temp Location within Folders in the configuration Screen.

Out of curiosity why would you want to change an applications internal Temp location?

I try to convert a rar archive to 7z. PA extract rar archive files to program files temp, then create 7z in user temp.

I have many files inside a locked rar archive that have very long file name and buried deep in folder hierarchies. Total path combined with program files temp would be more than 256 characters and result an error.

I plan to move the program files temp to a root drive/partition, if possible. Perhaps I could save some files.

After fresh install, that folder does not exist. It seems PA creates it for some purposes. In my case, converting archives.

sounds like a bug… what version of PA are you using and what OS please?

OS : Windows 7 Professional 32bit SP1 Build 7601
PA : 12.12.03 (03/2012)

can you give a sample file/path name that we can test here with?

Tested here with regular files converting password protected RAR to 7z and it worked fine.
No Temp folder in Program Files\PowerArchiver appeared.

Tried both on 32 and 64 bit Windows.

maybe also save settings via Options and send to support at conexware dot com? So they can try with exactly the same settings.
