Difference between "Pro Legacy" and "Pro" without BitDefender?
-
Is there a difference between the following two license types:
- PowerArchiver 2011 Pro International Legacy
- PowerArchiver 2011 Pro - Personal - International
I ask because I have a license for the first and there’s an offer for an upgrade to the second in my account’s ‘Orders’ page. But I’m not clear if there would be any difference in functionality between the two licenses.
-
First one is better (it is full PA version)… keep in mind that our system is not smart when it comes to figuring out if you already upgraded.
but hey, we appreciate you looking into it

2011 Pro Legacy = Toolbox without BD
2011 Pro = Pa Standard + Backup + PAOP + PACL (no Burner, FTP, VD)

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

2011 Pro Legacy = Toolbox without BD
2011 Pro = Pa Standard + Backup + PAOP + PACL (no Burner, FTP, VD)without confusing the matter, my memory recalls you saying on a thread that Toolbox users would get additional benifits that Pro/Pro Legacy wouldnot like additional format support, and maybe more advanced features.
This at the time made perfect sense… why else call something toolbox if it didnt contain usefull “tools”??

@Sir:
without confusing the matter, my memory recalls you saying on a thread that Toolbox users would get additional benifits that Pro/Pro Legacy wouldnot like additional format support, and maybe more advanced features.
This at the time made perfect sense… why else call something toolbox if it didnt contain usefull “tools”??
Well Pro Legacy is PA 2010 and PA 2009 Pro version, which we advertised as ultimate PA.
So I dont want us charging same users twice for the same features. Hence, PA 2009 Pro and PA 2010 Pro getting Toolbox features, without BD.
We didnt split Pro into Pro and Toolbox to charge same people twice, it was simply due to the feedback from our large users (which are majority of our sales btw), that said something like: “we want some of the extra features of Pro, but our bosses dont want us to buy Burner or FTP when we already have them”.
So we split them into 2 versions - Pro, tailored for Business users, and Toolbox tailored for home users.
Now if Toolbox gets some extra tools in the future, thats something else. But I think it would be unfair to PA 2010 Pro users to charge them again for updates to Burner and FTP, when year before we told them they get unlimited updates.
I already told you that Toolbox users will get some extra stuff in the future, because they are the ones supporting us the most - we have people that purchased PA several times just to support development and show appreciation…

I think it’s just confusing because of the year adaptation for professional.
It makes sense now you put it like that. Basically powerarchiver pro is perfect for home andbusinesses who want the best but without external elements that they may have already. And toolbox is for home users who want the best powerarchiver with additional features such as antivirus and firewall!?
Personally i would carry on buying the most advanced tool powerarchiver can offer even if I don’t use al its features. Why? That’s my way of supporting the development, including my continued support within forums.
If you have other methods I could support conexware et me know, I will do my best to help.
